We had the good fortune of connecting with Monika Kamardinov and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monika, what do you attribute your success to?
The key to my success in the real estate business has been my unwavering perseverance. Being in real estate requires constant vigilance and dedication. Especially when you’re starting out, personal time is scarce, as this is far from a typical 9-to-5 job. You’ll face a lot of rejection along the way, but the crucial thing is to stay persistent and keep pushing forward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
For the past three years, I’ve been working in real estate, fulfilling my long-held aspiration to engage with people daily while leveraging my Bachelor’s degree in Economics. My journey hasn’t been straightforward. After graduating from university in Lithuania and briefly working in a bank, I decided to move to the United States and start anew. I enrolled in college, taking prerequisites for a Nursing program, driven by a desire to help people. However, life circumstances forced me to pause my studies and take a full-time accounting job at a law firm. While I excelled in that role, it lacked personal fulfillment.

For over five years, I dreamed of entering the real estate field before finally enrolling in online classes. Balancing work and studies, I passed the licensing exam, quit my accounting job, and fully committed to real estate, despite the financial risks. I began my career at Keller Williams brokerage, where comprehensive training and invaluable mentorship shaped my skills. I just recently moved to Douglas Elliman Florida for further development of my skills in luxury real estate market.

From door-knocking to cold calling, sending postcards, attending events, and networking, I quickly learned what strategies worked best for my business. Despite facing challenging months and fearing I might have to return to a 9-5 job, I persisted and remained focused on my goals. I want new realtors to know that while the industry is competitive, perseverance and hard work ultimately pays off. Once you gain momentum, success follows. Never give up on your dream.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since moving to Miami, I’ve had several friends come visit me. For each of them, I created a personalized itinerary tailored to their individual personalities.

I highly recommend spending a few days at the beach, either at the 1 Hotel or the W Hotel in South Beach. For a one-day shopping experience, visit the Miami Design District, and for fascinating art, head to Wynwood.

Some of the best places to lounge and enjoy a view include Sugar in Brickell and Casadonna in Edgewater. For top-quality food, I suggest Estiatorio Milos, Mila, and Lido at the Surf Club.

If friends are staying for an extended period, I always recommend they take a scenic trip to Key West or beautiful Naples to experience more than just the Miami scene.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I read Rhonda Byrne’s book ‘The Secret’ at a very young age, and it profoundly changed the way I perceive my thoughts and the environment around me. The book emphasizes that everything begins with your thoughts and the power of manifestation, ultimately leading to the realization of your dreams. For the past ten years, I’ve had a quote above my bed that says, ‘Dream until your dreams come true.’ This constant reminder inspires me to keep dreaming, knowing that my aspirations can become reality.
