We had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Chin C.H and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ms. Chin, how do you think about risk?
I think of risk as an investment that can either result in a profit or a teachable loss. Within my life/career , taking risks have always helped my growth & better my understanding of the scenario at hand. Overtime I have learned not every risk should be taken if the chance at profit or reward stands to be low however, every risk should be atleast evaluated no matter what.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
ChinTsunamiCare is a hair & body care brand, but not your typical brand being that majority products are certified vegan and all are formulated with skin+hair loving ingredients. In addition to the creations (products) , I am mostly proud of the influence and overall positive self-care impact my brand makes on every soul whom interacts. I curated and launched my business off the ground back in 2018 but went on a much needed 2 year hiatus due to unforeseen circumstances. In july of 2020, i relaunched after 2 years of no promotion & sold out 100+ units within 9 hours. Ever since, the support and outpour of love has been amazing especially surrounding restocks. All in all, 3 years of branding & 1 year consistently operating, has taught me that it is okay to take a step back if it means taking a big jump ahead.

Nothing about my business was or is ever easy: from learning how to market, how to create labels, take decent product pictures, edit a site, proper formulation, etc. but i always aim to have an optimistic approach to just learn & grow because that is all one can ever do.

One thing i would like the world to know is that you truly can do anything you put your mind to and work for, as cliché as it may sound. My brand & life story is direct proof of this because coming from Clarendon, JA as a young girl child— I made sure to assess risks & rewards throughout to better myself..

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some fun places to check out is the juice bar in the community known as FrecklesJuice on Dyre Ave. i am there almost everyday & love their acai bowls + island rush smoothies

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A person well deserving of credit / recognition is upcoming fashion designer @tiannaosbourne. I would go on a babble here but her work speaks for herself & ultimately is a great fellow entrepreneur behind the scenes.
