We had the good fortune of connecting with Cátia dos Santos aka Mulher Arara and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cátia, what inspires you?
I am inspired by learning and understanding the purpose of life. I am inspired by seating with my darkness. I am inspired by composition and channeling. I am inspired by force, faith, firmness and Power. I am inspired by truth, community and family. I am inspired by my ability to keep searching, seeking for answers in this great mystery. I am inspired by living humble but in the humbleness feeling like royalty. I am inspired by real magic and the universal connections. And I am inspired in music, embodiment with soul and spirit and transcendental journeying.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am doing three main things in life right now: Professionally, I am a Property Manager. Artistically I am a Medicine Musician and Shamanic Facilitator. And in Life ….

Well, life is an entwined web of happenings & processings. Sometimes I feel to put it all on pause! But guess what? Next day I wake up, and bang the journey starts again! So I choose to keep going inspired by my pursuit of self discover and with an open heart I try to trust the process holding hands with myself.
I like my job, which is a great part of my day to day life. I feel its’s perfect for me. I enjoy the industry and the dynamics as I currently seek a higher level of interaction with the world, being proactive, social, engaged, focused and building my empire and creating flow of financial independency.
Property management is a new industry for me so it’s motivating challenging and interesting. All my days are different and never the same and I am on the go, task-solving.
Also reality is that I am going through divorce after 7 years of marriage, and I am just a the start of it.

In Motherhood, I find my Inner Child and my Tigress Spirit in an authentic, true and unconditional love. It’s an amazing experience and all I can say is thank you, I am grateful.

Motherhood is a portal for friends, sisterhood , parents club is real and most of all community, It’s “motherhood” the pursuit of happiness “BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY “as my friend SAL SAYS about his pursuit in parenthood.

Motherhood makes me a better human and connects me to my wildest instincts. Gives me meaning of life and experience real magic. It inspires me to work on myself to be the most real, present and safe mum, to have faith and continue my spiritual mission my work at service in this planet, to continue to live my dreams through my music and artistic expression.

On my Artistic life, I continue to be a Medicine Musician and Shamanic Facilitator. These days my schedule for ordering a is within divined time- in the flow. No pressure to be successful, ease and in alignment, for I am successful for being and acting my service.
I find myself in these containers as a creatrix, a singer, a dancer, an expression of my heart, of the sacred divine feminine , in sacred space with my brother and sisters of the Earth.

This year started as an adventure and with some surprises. I started looking for support systems and found some power houses and magical spots in Miami town that have held space for my medicine, my energy and my art. I would like to mention these special places here:

LITTLE BOHEMIA Open Mic on each Wednesday, holds space for local conscious artist to come forwards and share. The Wynwood SAVAGE cocktails bar Open Mic, super grateful for this place to hold art and artists expressions.

Open Mics have been spots of sanity for me, of acceptance, tribe, community, self expression, sharing, setting the tone, holding the mic and sing flow, sing prayers, exchange wisdoms, have common ground and purpose. It awakes my side of realness, my rawness.
My Music teaches me to listen to my intuition, to to follow my dreams, deepens my relationship with self, my true authenticity and its also a spiritual channel, it’s the vessel that allows me to feel my authentic unique self.
Another container that transformed my life is THE DRUM FARMERS at EARTH AND US FARM. So I have been going here for over a year and it’s been therapy, literally, powerful therapy, connection to a drum it’s like playing your rhythms to life, the rhythms of your heart.

In this magical new year I had set intentions to meet new people, connect to the world and humanity through playing, joy, fun and music and while on the journey I met Javier Fletcher, with whom I shared an idea for collaboration for a new medicine music set that was wanting to birth.
PLUMAS is a lyrical Shamanic medicine music Experience. Is a container of sacred music flow, inspired in the beats of Nature, the sounds of life and the rhythms of the heart. I come from a shamanic spiritual music back ground, and Javi from rooted caribbean & psychadelic rhythms and together we compose and channel medicine music jams with an electronic twist. The Intention is elevating the spirits to higher grounds of consciousness. To bring the reminder of the interconnectedness web of existence of all humanity so that we find each other in goodness, respect and connect the hearts of the people.
In this seed both me and Javi found common ground in passion for being at spiritual service through music, sharing our birth given gifts as artist. Hope you can catch our medicine sometime in the Miami city or who knows abroad?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ok a great spot to go is Dania Pointe on Sundays, they have a DJ and several entertainment for children in an outdoor square, as many shops and restaurants. It’s welcoming for families a great spot to steam off the little ones! The Standard Spa in Miami Beach. I was gifted an experience for my Birthday and it was absolutely delish.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

A shout out to all artist who keep fighting for their dreams no matter where or when. To all the people who create Intentionally, who create to give to others and who create spaces is good education connected to teachings that respect the Earth and all living things in our sacred planet. A special shoutout to the “drum farmers” this very sweet spot is a power house of true magic and good intentions.

A shoutout to my boss Drew Leeman and all the interconnected web of people that my job brings to my daily life, mental sanity and motivation. Super Shoutout to my sister and mum for loving me just as I am and for the unconditional support.

To my little star Melanie Desideri, your light, your power, your love, you are the most magical surprise I could have ever asked for, I love you!
