Meet NADIA ALTHABE | Founder & Growth Strategist, DooLab Miami

We had the good fortune of connecting with NADIA ALTHABE and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi NADIA, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
1. What was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, it was not one single moment. It was a natural evolution of my professional journey.
After many years working with multinational brands in Argentina and from Argentina to the world, I developed a very clear understanding of what brands and founders really need. I had the chance to see brands from the inside, understand their challenges, their blind spots, their opportunities, and the pain points that often keep them from growing with clarity. That experience led me to create Doolab: a marketing studio built to operate as a true extension of the brand, not just as an external agency. My goal was to bring strategy, storytelling, positioning, and execution together in a way that is deeply aligned with the founder’s vision and the brand’s culture. Starting a business from zero in Miami, as an Argentine entrepreneur, was a big leap. But it came from a very strong conviction: I knew the value of my experience, I knew the kind of problems I could help solve, and I wanted to build something that could help brands move with more intention, clarity, and relevance.
2. What’s one thing about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Marketing is not about making things look good. That’s design. Marketing is about understanding human behavior deeply enough to change it — and that requires business strategy, psychology, cultural intelligence, and relentless execution all at once. Most people think they’re hiring someone to post on Instagram. What they actually need is someone who can diagnose why their business isn’t growing and build a system to fix it. The gap between those two things is where most marketing fails.
3. Risk taking: how do you think about risk, what role has taking risks played in your life/career?
I see risk as part of growth. Moving from Argentina to Miami to build something from zero was one of the biggest risks I’ve taken. New market, second language, different culture, and no established network. It was uncomfortable, but it pushed me to trust my experience, my instinct, and my ability to figure things out. Not every risk has gone as planned, but every risk has taught me something. For me, the bigger risk is staying stuck.
4. Other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Deciding to specialize instead of trying to serve everyone. Early on I said yes to everything. Over time I got very intentional about the industries I understood deeply, luxury, hospitality, automotive, yachting, lifestyle and the type of work I do best: positioning businesses for growth, not just managing their social media. That focus made me better at my craft, more credible to the right clients, and honestly a lot more fulfilled. Saying no to the wrong things is what made room for the right ones.
5. What is the most important factor behind your success / the success of your brand?
Showing up as a real partner, not a vendor. My clients don’t hire me to execute a brief. They bring me in when something isn’t working and they need someone who will think alongside them, someone who understands their business, their market, their customer, and their goals. Doolab’s reputation is built on that relationship. People refer us because they trust us, not just because we delivered a campaign. Trust is the only currency that compounds.
6. What’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
One of the hardest decisions has been letting go of ideas or projects I truly believed would happen. It is difficult when you are invested in a vision and reality takes you somewhere else. But I have learned that flexibility is not failure. Sometimes a pivot opens better doors than the original plan.
7. Work life balance: how has your balance changed over time?
In the early years there was no balance, there was just work and survival. I don’t romanticize that grind. It was necessary but it wasn’t sustainable. Over time I’ve learned that protecting my energy is actually a business strategy. When I’m depleted, my thinking suffers, my relationships suffer, my work suffers. Balance for me isn’t about equal hours, it’s about showing up fully to whatever I’m doing, whether that’s a client strategy session or dinner with a friend.
8. Do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Nothing changes if nothing changes.” I love this phrase because it is simple and true. When something is not working, it reminds me to stop waiting for a different result and ask myself what I need to change. For me, growth starts with that kind of honesty.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Doolab is a Miami-based marketing and business development agency built for founders who are serious about growth. We work at the intersection of brand strategy, commercial development, and execution, across industries like luxury automotive, yachting, lifestyle, and hospitality.
What sets us apart is how we work: we embed ourselves in the business. We sit with founders who have small teams and big ambitions, and we help them build – brand systems, marketing infrastructure, event activations, digital processes, partnerships, and the kind of strategic clarity that turns a good idea into a scalable business. Getting here wasn’t linear. I came to Miami from Argentina and built this from scratch, no local network, no playbook, just a deep conviction that I wanted to do things differently. The hardest lesson has been learning to trust the process when results aren’t immediate. Building brands and commercial systems takes time. Clients sometimes want overnight transformations; the real work is in the foundations that make those transformations last.
What I want people to know about Doolab is this: we are not a marketing agency in the traditional sense. We are growth partners. If you’re a founder in Miami trying to compete in a sophisticated market – and you need someone who understands your industry, your customer, and how to connect the two – that’s exactly what we’re built for.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Let’s say one of my best friends is coming to Miami for only two days. I would keep it cool and simple. We’d start with a daycation at The Edition because it has that perfect Miami mix: relaxed, beautiful, and a little glamorous without trying too hard. Then, if there’s a game, we’d go see Inter Miami because the energy around it right now is too good to miss. The next day, we’d do Aventura Mall because my friends from Argentina always love a good Miami shopping moment. At night dinner at Pastis, and maybe a drink at Dante’s Hi-Fi after.
And the next morning, non-negotiable: wake up early, beach-time and grab breakfast at Pura Vida. That’s my favorite version of Miami: a little fun, a little sun, a little shopping, and a quiet morning to balance it all out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my family, who supported me through every uncertain moment of building something from scratch in a country that wasn’t mine. Entrepreneurship can be lonely, and knowing they believed in me even when I didn’t have all the answers made everything possible.
To my friends, who showed up with honesty, humor, and the kind of encouragement that doesn’t require you to have it all figured out.
And to Atomic Habits by James Clear, a book that quietly rewired how I think about progress. It taught me that systems beat motivation every time, and that small, consistent actions are the real architecture of any meaningful change. Required reading for anyone building something.
