Meet Nadim Tabsch | Artist, Author and Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadim Tabsch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nadim, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
I think often times, people follow their dreams and get discouraged if they do not see their success rapidly flourish. When you create your own brand, there will be growing pains. In my experience, I had to deal with a lot of “opinions” and struggled to push my artistic concepts. Understanding that rejection can be part of the process, slow sales and a lack social media growth can also be discouraging when starting your own brand. However, the important thing to remember is that consistency pays off, continuing your brands growth and finding creative ways to push your ideas through the market is one thing, but putting yourself in the mindset that your brand is the market can be a helpful perspective. When to give up? When you lost passion for what you are doing, if you feel indifferent about your project, then it may be time for you to switch gears and explore things that spark your interest at a greater level. Also, your pursuits have to make smart financial sense for your brand in the long run and being able to make the tough call of giving up and moving forward has to be what is best for you in both the short and long term. When do you decide to keep going? Depends how much you believe in your brand, you just need a glimmer of prospect to know that your idea and brand can be successful in my opinion.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy professionally is my constant need to want to create new pieces. Typically , custom requests for new art work take up a good majority of my time. However, that does not stop me from simultaneously turning out new pieces. As a creative person I also venture into other avenues, for example I co-host a podcast and have published a book of my original poems and illustrations on Amazon.
It is also important to note that I am an educator and along with creating paintings, I am always filling my time with creative ideas and fun ways to deliver instruction in the classroom.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So many cool places in Miami, there is so much to do and see. I know many people who come to Miami only think of South Beach. South Beach however is for tourists, the best places to go and take in the sights I would take my friend to Calle Ocho to visit a few cigar shops and get a Cuban cafecito and people watch at the Domino Park. For food if you want upscale you got Ruth’s Chris in Coral Gables, delicious steak that melts in your mouth, if you are on a budget El Torro Loco restaurant or food truck works, Islas Canarias also has amazing croquetas. Cafe Creme’ is a French Bistro in North Miami that has amazing desserts. For a good drink, Wynwood Garden and Walls, the murals and the true vibe of Miami exists here, I think anyone would enjoy this itinerary.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I certainly would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for my wife Chris. She is always supportive of me and my ventures. Whether it is creating and promoting a new piece of pop art or writing my book. The support she has given me throughout the entire time we have spent together (16 years) I can never state enough how appreciative I am for her. My friends and family have been supportive and honest which I am grateful for. I know some people think it’s silly that I mention my dog Thor, but he thinks I am the greatest person in the world, so why not give him a shout out as well.
