Meet Nancy G. Allen | CEO of the WBDC of Florida | author, speaker, and expert on women’s business issues.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy G. Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy G., do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“Make allies and believers.” It is a quote by my late husband, Joseph A Allen. I was on my way to a national conference with an audience of 3500+ women business owners. I was very nervous because I had been planning this for a year. I texted my husband that I had arrived safely to Orlando and was on my way to the hotel.
He texted back: “Good luck. Make allies and believers.”
Those words took away my nervousness and anxiety because I know how to make allies and believers. In fact, I shared the message with the audience and told them not to be nervous when meeting with potential clients. I told them to have faith that they too knew how to make allies and believers.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Women’s Business Development Council of Florida certifies, connects, and champions women business owners at each stage of their business. We offer focused programs under the following three banners.
WBEC Florida: WBEC Florida is a Regional Partner Organization of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). As a certified Women Owned Enterprise (WBE), you gain access to supplier diversity and procurement executives at major U.S. corporations and federal, state, and local government entities. This is a strategic step towards securing ITBs, RFAs, RFPs, and other opportunities specifically for women-owned businesses. Learn more at https://womensbusiness.info/.
The Growth Shift: A business traditionally experiences three growth stages. The Growth Shift encompasses three program tracks. The first track, Hello Growth, is designed for women ready to start a business and looking for support. The second track, The Growth Path, is designed for women with an established business but are ready to expand into the next phase. The last track, Growth Legacy, is for women who have owned a successful business for countless years but want to make a transition or bigger impact. Nancy G Allen: I work with women who are managing the many transitions we experience throughout our lives, to help you connect, create, and have the courage to embrace the life you are meant to live and lead. I work with women in both the corporate and business ownership sectors. Learn more about how we can work together through event keynotes, workshops, or coaching at https://www.nancygallen.com/.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Kampong in Coconut Grove. It is right on the bay and was the home of David Fairchild of Fairchild Tropical Gardens. It’s beautiful with lots of rare and exotic plants. The view of the bay is breathtaking!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My team at WBEC Florida. Lisa Roblejo, Gelcy Capote, Steph McFee, Diane Sears, Johanna Sanchez and Carmen Perez. They keep things running smoothly so I can do outreach, coaching, and consulting. I would not be where I am today without their help and support!
