We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Tomas Tirone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nancy, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I believe that as a parent, the best example for your children that you can set is to live authentically. For me this has meant not settling in my career and prioritizing a lifestyle that promotes health and wellness. It would be hypocritical of me to tell my children that they can be anything they want to be in this world and to “shoot for the stars,” if I did not practice that myself. My children will be able to see in me that while a satisfying career entails hard work and dedication, it is also filled with rewarding moments that are fueled by passion for my industry and the community that I have found in my team. My hopes for them are that they never feel the need to be unhappy or even complacent just to make ends meet.

What should our readers know about your business?
Hosting With Friends is a full service vacation rental and property management company. Our team is a collective of individuals passionate about hospitality and real estate. Our approach to the market is led by a common passion we all have which is sustainability and finding new ways to implement this value into the real estate world. This intentionality allows us to curate a special and unique experience not only for the guests that choose to stay at our properties, but for the property owners as well. Our clients trust us and our team to handle all guest communications as well as maintenance on their investment properties, while delivering transparent revenue generating results in a eco-conscious manner. Some of the sustainable practices we have been able to implement thus far include using cleaner cleaning products, selecting energy efficient appliances, and planting herb gardens for guests to use during their stays. We hope to increase these efforts as our portfolio grows.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
South Florida truly has an endless list of places to see and things to do, but personally my favorite category is always the food to eat whenever I travel. Since the bulk of our properties lie in Broward, I’ll keep the itinerary to the 954. The Hollywood Beach boardwalk is a family friendly place where you can easily roller blade, enjoy the splash pad with your kids, or play a pick up game of pickle ball. Some of my favorite spots in Hollywood for a bite to eat are Oaxaka for a great Mexican/asian fusion meal, J28 for a Peruvian lunch, and GG’s waterfront for cocktails and dinner with a view. The next day head north to the city of Fort Lauderdale and enjoy the iconic Elbo Room (a cash only beach bar founded in 1938) to people watch and enjoy live music. Once you have enjoyed all that the Fort Lauderdale sun has to offer while laying in the sand, head towards the up and coming FAT village for a smoothie at JB&C, fresh pasta and pizza at Heritage, and end your day with the best cookies at Blueprint (best chocolate chip cookies!)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have truly been blessed with amazing mentors from grade school and through my professional career! For this current season of my life I would have to shout out a book written by radio personality Lenard “Charlamagne” McKelvey titled “Opportunity Comes To Those Who Create It.” Since I first read this book, I have been moved to live my life in this manner. So much so that when I reached out to a dear friend and mentor, Adam August, I titled my email to him after the book in hopes to find a place within one of his companies. Little did I know that I had created the opportunity for Hosting With Friends to form. It has been with Adam’s leadership, but most of all vote of confidence in me that I have been able to step into my current role in the property management world.
