We had the good fortune of connecting with Natacha Noel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natacha, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I view risk as ‘scared money don’t make money’. Taking a risk to achieve a goal requires courage to face the fear of uncertainty. No matter the outcome, either way, we grow through the process and become more resilient and confident. I don’t fear the unknown, I embrace it. Opening Sélman Dous was a risk I was willing to take. I didn’t want to doubt it later with should’ve, would’ve, could’ve of. If it didn’t work at least I know I tired and gave it my best.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a Flight Attendant by trade. I love my job as it takes me to different places and allows me to meet new people daily. I love the flexibility of it. I’m able to complete my projects without interruption. I’ve learned customer service is EVERYTHING. No one has to spend their money with you. Customer service can make or break your business regardless of the product. Great preparation is key to not work yourself into the ground. I’ve found a great system that works for me. My will to succeed is stronger than my comfort in defeat!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife(Shaina) who came into my life and hit the ground running with me. Supporting all my lavish ideas, attending all my vendoring events and making sure my brand was represented well with proper attire and materials was something she did without me ever having to ask. Mari(friend) who walked through the pouring rain to bring me food because I couldn’t leave an event. She always supports EVERYTHING I do. Darcell & Edlene(friends) who challenged me on my prices making sure I wasn’t cheating myself. They’ve never asked for favors and have always supported at full price no questions asked. My nephew, Tí Papa, who has allowed me to make all his birthday cakes and challenge my skills and creativity. Rose (my ace) who allowed me to take over her kitchen and dinning room when I had major orders and grand ideas. I want to also thank my entire village for giving me the extra push to keep going whenever I’m down.. My support system is amazing…and they are my professional taste testers lol.
