Meet Piff Cherry | Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Indie Label

We had the good fortune of connecting with Piff Cherry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Piff Cherry, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because I truly enjoy the process of creating but I also believe it is my calling. When my listeners reach out to me and tell me how much my music inspires them or helps them get through difficult times it truly pushes me to keep going. My songs are all based on my experiences through relationships and friendships so it’s almost like I’m creating soundtracks to my life. It has been one of the most spiritual journeys for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think what sets me apart from others are my lyrics. I’m vulnerable when it comes to my music. I write about relationships and heartbreaks which I think most Artist are afraid to tap into that category of song writing. It’s not always easy! I sometimes cry to my own songs! I overcome the challenges of writing this type of music when I remember how my songs have impacted others. That keeps me going.

I’ve learned a lot through my career and I continue to learn but to me one of the most important rules in the music business is to not lose yourself through the process. Artistry can be one of the most challenging careers out there. Always have paper work ready and be on your toes!

I want the world to know through my music it is okay to be vulnerable. I truly believe its one of gods greatest gifts… to feel.. to love… to hurt.. it is all beautiful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Grenada, Spain. I want to spend a week in the mountains singings, dancing to Flamenco and enjoying the amazing views.

I think the most fun and interesting people are everywhere. I believe your heart and mind and guide you to the right places and people as long as you have a good heart. The world is our playground and we forget that as we grow up. I’d like to visit every country if possible and experience many many cultures.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out my friend Billy who also has played the role of a manager for me during my career. He truly pushes me to continue creating even in the toughest of times. My family who always held me down no matter the situation. My friend Somara who guided me and helped me build my label. My best friends Wendy and Amber who are always there supporting me whether it’s on set for videos, showcase events or studio sessions, I can always count on them! And a big big big shout out to the producers and engineers who help create my sound over the years Sevlow, Batmanonthebeatz, BRKS and Corey James!!!!!!
