We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Signorelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started Bougie Blankets from a place of love and necessity. I have been a long time cozy connoisseur and was constantly seeking out the best, coziest blankets around. I acquired quite a few luxury blankets over the years but the problem was, my children kept stealing them nightly and I could never have my own! When our youngest child went to kindergarten, I thought, what do I absolutely love and am passionate about? My conclusion was: cozy blankets! I decided to teach myself how to make luxury blankets and was able to source amazing material. I gave them away as birthday/housewarming presents and they were a hit! I knew I had tapped into something special. People really loved these blankets as much as I did. So, that’s pretty much how Bougie Blankets came to be! I’ve loved every minute of building this sweet business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Bougie Blankets apart from the others is our quality product and unique styles. We use a very luxurious minky material, which feels like real mink fur but is instead synthetic, and there’s nothing quite like it. It doesn’t pill, shed or lose its quality after you wash it the correct way. When you touch the material, the softness is undeniable. When you snuggle up, the blankets have a slight weight to them which is very calming and relaxing. I’ve had countless customers tell me they can’t sleep without their blanket, their children keep stealing it so they need to buy another and my favorite, they feel like a kid again because their blanket is so special they walk around with it 🤣 It makes me feel so good to make others feel happiness and joy. That is true success to me. Our brand is all about making people feel comfort and cuddles on a level they never knew before. Once you have a Bougie Blanket for yourself, you understand the hype!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are based in the Palm Beach area so the first thing would be to get to the beach! Juno beach is a favorite and Palm Beach island also has a beautiful, bougie beach. We could kick around the Breakers Hotel and have lunch at the Seafood Bar, drinks at The Colony Hotel and dinner at Le Bilboquet. During the week there is tons to do! Bike rides on the Lake trail, Flagler museum and see a show at the Kravis Center. The shopping on worth Avenue is unbelievable and there are many beautiful and historical places to explore. Would recommend E.R Bradley’s for some casual, low key lunch with friends and Blackbird restaurant in Jupiter for amazing sushi and Asian fusion. Plus, a very cool and bougie scene.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my family, especially my 5 children, for inspiring and encouraging me every step of the way. For my husband, my #1 hype man and fan. Also, for Karina, my favorite seamstress who has worked tirelessly to help production and is always willing to work with me on new ideas and visions.
