We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Vaulin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My journey into entrepreneurship started with a very personal wake-up call – a serious health condition that forced me to reevaluate every part of my lifestyle, including what I was putting on my skin. I realized how much unnecessary toxicity we’re exposed to daily and how little transparency there was in the beauty industry. That experience led me to clean beauty, not just as a consumer, but as a calling.

With a background in marketing and nearly two decades of experience working with various brands, I already understood how to build and communicate value. But five years ago, I took a more hands-on role in skincare manufacturing. I saw firsthand how the industry operated, and I knew there was space for something better – more ethical, more transparent, and more aligned with health and sustainability.

That’s why I founded Vaulabs – a U.S.-based skincare manufacturing company dedicated to helping clean beauty brands bring their vision to life with safe, effective, and non-toxic formulations. My mission is simple: to create products that contribute to a healthier world, without compromising performance or integrity.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Vaulabs was born from both personal healing and professional passion. After facing serious health challenges, I realized how much the products we use daily impact our well-being. That’s when I made the switch to clean beauty, not just in my own life, but as a mission. With a background in marketing and over 15 years of experience working with brands, I decided to channel that knowledge into something bigger: creating a skincare manufacturing company that prioritizes health, transparency, and quality.

Vaulabs is a contract manufacturer specializing in clean beauty products. What sets us apart is not just what we make, but how we make it. We’re committed to non-toxic, sustainable, and science-backed formulations – no greenwashing, no shortcuts. Every product that leaves our lab is made with integrity and deep respect for both people and the planet.

Getting to this point wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, sleepless nights, and financial stress, but I learned to trust my vision and take things one step at a time. I also learned the power of community and clear boundaries: not every opportunity is the right one, and that’s okay.

What I’m most proud of is the trust our clients place in us. We’ve helped launch brands that are now stocked in major retailers, and we’ve done it without compromising our values. Seeing their products on shelves, knowing we had a hand in creating something that’s safe and effective – that’s the real reward.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know, it’s this:
You can create something meaningful and successful without burning out or selling out. Vaulabs exists to support founders who want to build beauty brands with soul and we’re just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Clearwater for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the magic of this place the way locals do – relaxed, vibrant, and full of hidden gems.

We’d start our mornings with breakfast at Latitude 28 – it’s cozy, chic, and the views are unbeatable. Their avocado toast and fresh juices are the perfect way to ease into the day. After breakfast, we’d walk the beach barefoot or take a morning boat tour to see dolphins playing in the Gulf.

One evening, we’d go to Hiatus, my absolute favorite for dinner. The oceanfront sunset views are breathtaking, and their seafood dishes are fresh and beautifully prepared. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and conversation flows effortlessly.

For casual lunches, I’d take them to The Living Room on Main in Dunedin – great food, relaxed atmosphere, and a lovely local wine selection. One afternoon, we’d stop by Kawa Coffee in Tampa for matcha and pastries before browsing some local boutiques and vintage shops in Hyde Park Village.

For a fun and unexpected adventure, we’d do a kayak tour through the mangroves or take a day trip to Honeymoon Island – it’s quiet, wild, and the perfect escape from the touristy parts of the beach.

At least one night, we’d have cocktails at The Sandpearl Resort, followed by a walk on the beach under the stars, because Clearwater nights have their own kind of magic.

More than anything, I’d want my friend to leave with a sense of peace, joy, and inspiration, which is exactly what this place has given me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, patience, and unwavering support of my husband. He stood by me during the most difficult chapter of my life, when I was dealing with an autoimmune disorder, navigating motherhood, and trying to figure out my next step. His belief in me never wavered, even when I wasn’t sure I could keep going.

I also want to give credit to my close circle of entrepreneurial women, many of whom are also moms, who constantly inspire me with their resilience and creativity. They remind me that it’s possible to build something meaningful without sacrificing your values or your family.

And lastly, I’ll give a quiet nod to every clean beauty brand founder who decided not to cut corners and do things the right way – you keep raising the bar, and I’m proud that Vaulabs gets to support your vision.
