We had the good fortune of connecting with Nataly Horan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nataly, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m Colombian born, raised in Miami, FL, by a Colombian mother, and gringo step-father. My Spanish is “conversational” at best. And I know way more Brittney Spears songs than Shakira. But, I recognize how close I came to being raising in South America, and how fortunate I am that a series of choices lead to my US Citizenship. Being raised in Miami has also made me very comfortable, even thrive, amongst a kaleidoscope of cultures. It made me realize how different, and alike, we all are. The colors, textures, and elements of design seen throughout traditional Colombian art, combined with the bold lines of Art Deco architecture, guide my aesthetic.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and CEO of AUTHENTIC Meetings & Incentives®, a boutique cruise brokerage and event design firm that specializes in turning every gathering into a deeply personal, and authentically unforgettable, experience. What sets us apart is our belief that relationships are the true currency of business. We don’t just book ships or venues; we curate micro-communities, craft one-on-one connections, and lean into local culture to elevate… everything.

I’m most proud of our pivot from general MICE planning to providing marketing support to select Supplier Partners. At a time of worldwide economic uncertainty, leaning into trusted partnerships has paid off. Today we’re becoming the go-to broker for incentive groups, corporate retreats, and ultra-luxury gatherings at sea.

The path hasn’t been clear or easy. I closed my profitable interior-design agency to pursue a unique opportunity in travel, with no guarantees. But by trusting my gut, surrounding myself with mentors, and keeping an open mind, I turned everything into a stepping stone. I learned that adaptability, relentless curiosity, and a refusal to settle are what transform risks into breakthroughs.

What I want the world to know about AUTHENTIC is this: we believe in the power of genuine connection. Behind every flawless itinerary is a team fueled by creativity, care, and a conviction that magic happens when you combine vision with authenticity. We’re here to prove that the best events are the ones you, and your guests, will remember forever.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love playing tour guide! Ok, so one day would be bike riding through Wynwood. We would stop for yoga, shopping, photos, ice cream, drinks… you name it. Super casual and fun. Another day, we would dress up, and do a fancy day in the Design District, with shopping and a long lunch at Michael’s Genuine. Day three is a Metro Mover ride through downtown, ending with lunch at the Perez Art Museum. A Saturday is MIMO is always nice, with a stop at the Legions Park Farmers Market, and lunch along Biscayne.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As cliche as it sounds, I dedicate everything to my mom. She is the source of unwavering support, encouragement, praise and inspiration. If everyone had a mom like her, I think the world would be a better place.
