We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathasha Rumbos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathasha, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been fascinated with the entertainment industry and it was something I was always passionate about. From a young age I would watch singers on TV and I would always think to myself like hey this would be awesome to live a life of adventure. Being a musician is an adventure because of touring and all the crazy things you have to deal with and I feel this is the way I want to live my life. Create music and connect with people through my art!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
2020 was the year of change and quarantine made me realize that it was time for me to pursue music. There were so many signs and I just couldn’t ignore it. I had gotten connected with someone who needed a vocalist for their music and after the first project we worked on he was like listen I think we can create some magic if we wrote a couple of songs together. We started creating and as soon as we were going to prepare to do shows lock down happened and I was so bummed out but honestly it was for the best. We started focusing on the music videos for the songs and we decided to just release them during the summer which was perfect. It definitely was nervewrecking because at that point everybody was releasing music due to quarantine but I was able to get connected with some people and flashforward to today we are still going at it. I found the sound that I’m going for and I’m very happy with the journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
WYNWOOD! You can never go wrong with Wynwood there is a place for everyone there. I would start off with El Patio brunch on sunday right when they get off the plane to give them the Miami welcome. After dancing like we are in carnivals I would definitely take them to Mayami for some cricket shots and fire tacos ! Throughout the week I would love to take them to Oleta River State Park to kayak since we can grab some whiteclaws while we look at the manatees and get a nice tan. After that a trip to Orlando is a must for Disney parks especially Epcot where we could drink around the world! Before they leave I’ll be taking them to Duffys since their 2 for 1 is all day and we can catch a boat from the dock to do a sunset sailing through Haulover park!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say my mom. She has sacrificed so much for me so that I can pursue this dream and I cannot wait for the day where I can be like mom I made it you can retire go spend the rest of your life doing what you really want to do! Also, I have to recognize my boyfriend because he’s been so supportive about my career and the fact that he loves watching me do it is such a blessing. My mom and him are the people that I would go to when I’m feeling in a funk and they always put me back on track with their words of support. Honestly, without them I probably would have just let music go.
