We had the good fortune of connecting with Neela Asaadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neela, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
One constant that every single human being has is time, and we have the same amount of it. What we choose to do with it is our choice. The secret to any success story is moderation and living in harmony with yourself. If something doesn’t go as planned, learn from it, don’t judge it. If you indulge, enjoy it, and get back on track later! If you overworked yourself, give yourself a well-deserved rest.

Strive to keep yourself grounded through fulfilling practices and rituals that fuel your soul. Morning rituals are personally my favorite way to set myself up for success, in addition to a delicious night’s sleep to restore. Spend time investing in yourself. After all, it is the greatest gift you could give so you can show up as the best version of yourself for everyone around you.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Formally, I am a Graphic Designer turned business owner of Asaadi Graphics. We are a boutique design firm with an expertise in special occasion events and milestones. Building client relationships was always one of my favorite parts of the process, getting to know couples as they plan their wedding, working with a parent to plan and execute all of the details for their baby’s first birthday.

During the pandemic, I spent a lot of time investing in my own self-care. I was adamant to broaden my knowledge and dive deeper into the world of wellness. One thing led to another, and I finally enrolled in The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, graduating with a degree as a Certified Health and Nutrition Coach.

The reason I set out on this new adventure is because I am so passionate about people and human connection. We all face mental and physical roadblocks, but those moments become a part of our story. I am here to guide you through a transformation — that is sustainable, preventative, promotes balance and is inclusive. My approach is holistic, tapping into all aspects of life, both on and off the plate.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Having lived in Miami for the last 13 months, I have really learned to love everything it has to offer.

My dream day would look like:

– Waking up to the sunrise overlooking our beautiful view of Biscayne Bay.
– Make a hot water lemon & celery juice before anything else!
– Meditate and then get ready for some movement
– Take a class at Barry’s Bootcamp in Midtown or Miami Beach
– Go to Panther coffee after for a cold brew
– Next would be to lay on the beach at Soho House
– Lunch would be light, I love Delicious Raw Kitchen in Sunset Harbor
– The afternoon would be spent doing something a little more creative, visit the ICA or Rubell museum
– Lastly, we would go to my favorite restaurant, Amara at Paraiso in Edgewater
– We’d end the night at Lagniappe for some organic wine in their courtyard

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Executive Mom Nest is a community I have recently joined. They have shaped the person I am today and taught me a lot about work/ life balance and being OK with accepting help. “We help overwhelmed working moms find the elusive work-life balance so they can prioritize themselves and spend more quality time with loved ones without sacrificing their career success or personal wellness. It is not a choice between being an amazing mom or a successful businesswoman. It is only a choice of how to be the best YOU imaginable.” — EMN.
