Meet Neffy Ford: Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Neffy Ford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Neffy, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I think the most important factor behind my success and the success of my business is my faith in God. I believe it is normal to feel discouraged or unmotivated at times, especially after dealing with adversities, but the one thing that has always kept me moving forward is my faith. God has proven time and time again that he will always make a way for me to be who he has called me to be.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The name of my business is House of Hilani. It is a clothing brand for women that aims to make every woman feel like a “reflection of perfection”. We want women to feel comfortable but also sexy, while looking fly! I believe my drive and ambition sets me apart from others. The moment I realized that I naturally excel in everything that I put my mind to, I learned that the sky will never be the limit for me and I will be successful with everything I choose to do. I am most proud of my resilience and ability to keep going no matter what obstacles I face. I believe I got to where I am business-wise with consistency. Knowing what I have to do and continuing to do it, even on the days that I don’t feel like it. It isn’t easy running a business but looking at all of the hard work, sacrifices and time that I’ve put in to be where I am now always keeps me going. I want the world to know that I am a woman, a black woman, that once couldn’t imagine being where I am today and I’m excited to accomplish even more than I already have. I’d like the success of my business to inspire women to never limit themselves in any way because we are unstoppable when we’re confident in ourselves. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a special shoutout to God, my family, and my closest friends. I believe they have all played an important roll in my success whether they know it or not! The words of encouragement, genuine support, motivational conversations, mentorship or just them checking on me has never gone unnoticed. In a world where everyone is trying to become someone, I think it is very important to let the people around you know that you see them and you are very proud of them.
