Meet Nelson Flores | Celebrity Barber

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelson Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nelson, what do you attribute your success to?
Consistency is everything in my name.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is staying true to the craft, I take my career serious, it makes me proud to see my clients smile after getting a haircut from me, I love having conversations during a good haircut!

Where I’m at today as a barber, it’s still unreal! I started my career as a barber in 2012, it was so so hard at the beginning, I wanted to give up a million times, my work was horrible haha, so I used to sit in the shop and watch everyone cut, took a gem from all the barbers and created my own style, took a lot of messed up haircuts but those bad haircuts pushed me to go harder! Thru the years I’ve learned to be patient, today I’m proud to say I’m one of Broward county top barber (respectfully) I love this barber game, it changed my life completely! I want the world to know who nelly da barber is, I’m true to the game, loyal, all the above!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spot in the city is Ghostbar, I definitely recommend anyone to check it out, when I say the food is amazing boy it’s amazing! Great energy, it’s my Friday night hangout spot! Especially with my brother dj reese on the ones and two’s! Sunday’s is great too, my boy dj ha go crazy aswell lol!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off, I dedicate most of my journey to my brother SK, may he Rest In Peace, he was one of many that pushed me into becoming a barber, I wanna be able to show people that if you put your all into something, it will pay off! I also go hard for my beautiful daughter London, she sure keeps me going! My brothers (HT) also pushed me, helped me promote my self etc! So many people to name besides my brothers but everyone that’s been there since day 1 know what time it is! Anyone that pushes NellyDaBarber means a lot to me! Shout out to my team over at celebrity cuts it’s an honor to grow with them!
