We had the good fortune of connecting with Nephtalie Hyacinthe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nephtalie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my business was my passion for sharing information, creating campaigns that will put my clients in the best light, and spending as much quality time with my daughter as possible.  I went to Public Relations School with the intention to work for myself. Owning something that I love to do gives me the liberty to make executive decisions without having to explain. For example, I would scroll on social media and see a solopreneur post something that didn’t represent his/her business well and I wouldn’t have the heart to ignore it. Sometimes, I offer them a free consultation which often became a whole month of free public relations plan. There are times where I can see that it’s a budget gap and their flyers needed an upgrade and I will just send them a free professional flyer. Please, understand that money is extremely important to me because I have to feed my child but My father instilled in me something that is greater than that. He was the best example to me of what kindness looks like and I always have that in mind whenever I am creating something. If it’s something that I would do regardless if I didn’t get pay, that’s what I would pursue. I started Talie & Co. to help businesses of all budgets achieve their goals.

What should our readers know about your business?

Talie & Co. Strategies is a full-service PR Boutique specialized in media placement, community outreach, financial campaigns, and special events. What set-us apart is our drive to over-deliver. We are quick, effective, committed, and passionate. It was just the other day someone witnessed coordinating 2 events back to back and He asked ” Are you always like that? Happy when you are working, full of energy like the Energizer Bunny?” Of course, that’s who we are at Talie & Co. And we don’t have to fake it. We love what we do. We want to give a service that is beyond the client’s budget. I am most proud of giving back. If someone honestly needs my help, I will do it in a flash. I will not allow people to take advantage of me because I have been gifted with discernment. Don’t try to trick me into doing things for free, ask me and I will do my best to do it. It wasn’t easy for me to get to where I am today. I never thought that I would represent so many great brands and companies so soon. I absolutely visualized the environment that I wanted to create when I have my own company. It was really hard to start and it’s still very challenging but I believe in stages. I believe that sometimes you have to take each step without skipping. I have learned to be honest with the world. I have learned to observe then activate. I will not post something on social media just to make people think that I am making great moves. I say it like it is. I post my work with honesty. I don’t overshare and I don’t pretend. I want the world to know that my Brand and who I am are the results of God’s grace, faithfulness, and unfailing love. And the Church says Amen!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a picky eater and I love staying home, odd considering the field that I am in. Pre-Covid, If a friend comes to visit, most likely I will call my bosom friend Emmanuela Norgues- Lormeus to see if she wants to go with me or give me some references. I will either take them out to eat at Little Green House, Kasa Champet, Bar One, or Doucé. I would walk around Bayside, visit The Perez Art Museum, Assist a performance at The Arsht Center. These places are fun to me but I would definitely need the help of Emmanuela.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My life took a turn a few years ago and I had to start over. I had to re-evaluate, grieved, and re-focus. I am an extremely grateful person and some people see it as a weakness but I love to ShoutOut people that have been there for me at some capacity. I really don’t want to forget anyone but I will name a few. Delphine Neph Dauphin is my 11-year-old powerhouse daughter, she is wiser than I am. She keeps me grounded personally and professionally. I probably wouldn’t take the risk of starting my company if she didn’t cheer me on and gave me strict deadlines. She is my Brand Ambassador and understands my company’s core values like no other. Martha Benghie Hyacinthe gifted me something and didn’t even realize that she invested in my business. I was facing some really hard times and she was very generous on my birthday and I used that gift and started my business a few days later. My mother, Marguerite H. Hyacinthe is a sacrificial mother. Whatever I need she will give it to me. She helps me a lot with some PR work when I need it. She has a background in administration and education so I trust her judgment. I go to her when I need a boost. Pastor John Wesley Hyacinthe, this man talks the talk and walks the walk. He drops everything and runs to my rescue every time. He empowers me to be better and he will not allow me to beat myself up over meaningless things. If I need the money he is there, the remote control needs battery he comes and puts them, prayer he has already started. Melissa Dunn – After I started my business even with the knowledge and the experience I was very insecure. I suffered from imposter syndrome, I think. I was afraid to talk about my business. I was afraid to charge my worth until a conversation with Melissa changed all that. She asked me a series of questions in terms of all the skills I possessed and at the end, she says ” Nephtalie, you are a real publicist what’s the issue?” She then motivated me to rebrand and start with a new mindset. She saved my company. Suzan McDowell is my mentor. I claim her as such and she doesn’t have to accept it. I go to her for everything marketing & PR related. She is a marketing guru. She makes most people popular in South Florida. Suzan will mention my name in rooms full of opportunities. Vanessa Joseph, I call her my cousin because that’s how we live with each other. She is awesome. Vanessa supports my business as if she was part of it. She will text or email me opportunities and titled them “Hey, that’s you”. She is a very kind young lady. You know how you are watching on TV how some people has achieved a certain level and they reached back to pull someone up, that’s Vanessa. She has her hand extended to pull whoever is willing. I am honored to have her as a friend and cousin. Rosemary Tetteh – is self-less when it comes to me. She is there always to push me forward no matter what it costs her. Michele Fils-Aime is the one to tell me like it is and do it with so much love. She cares so much for the company and pushes me to go higher on a daily basis. My new team is worth mentioning because they are working so hard, my hat out to Diana Pierre-Louis my Executive PR Assistant. When I think of something, she has already done it. She keeps me grounded. Ron-Gardy Pierre is my Brand Production Coordinator and he makes life very easy for me. He gets things done while I take a deep breath. Fermin Mendoza is my Marketing Coordinator and when I tell you this young man is one to look out for. Listen, watch out for Fermin. He gets things done. Rhoda Louissaint is my Communication Coordinator. She loves PR and loves working beside me. I appreciate her so much. Laila Dejean- is our young Social Media Brand Ambassador. She is very professional and always comes ready to work. She has the best interest of Talie & Co. at heart. Of course, I have a great family and my small circle of friends is worth more than a ton. I am totally blessed.
