We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Dini and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Financial Freedom. As a 17 year-old high school senior, I have always been clear in my mind that I want to create my own business. My main goals in life is to be financially free and be able to control and manage my own finances and not live paycheck to paycheck. First I started with my small marketing agency called DINI MEDIA @diniimedia , which I produce, film and edit highlights for athletes, photography and real-estate marketing content. After experimenting in the digital media world I realized it is something I genuinely like, and will definitely work on in the future. Reading has also encouraged and allowed me to expand my mentality regarding the business industry. I have read from authors like Robert Greene and his psychological analysis novels to Benjamin Graham’s “Intelligent Investor,” to educate me regarding investments and securities. Not only that, but just living in the Miami rush hour life, has made me have initiative to work on my mentality and finances at such a young age as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always loved to create, ever since I was young. During the beginning of high school and middle school I was in the Broadcasting Program in my school. There, I learnt how to produce and edit videos. During family trips, or even in my own time, I used to film and edit short clips just for fun and to keep track of the good moments. I used to show it off to my friends and family, and one day one of my family members sent me a video competition to edit a tutorial for the PETITE Juice Brand. The goal was to create sort of a tutorial, looking like user-generated content, and I won first place of the competition earning a $400 gift-card. This kind of opened my eyes to the opportunities I could take, since I am not a bad editor or video producer. Here I started to create my own marketing agency, and I started to be more hands-on with clients regarding photography bookings and money management. Take into consideration, that I did this all by myself. All the hands-on filming, photography, website creation, digital marketing, video production, and sells, all go through me. One of the things that has challenged me the most, is probably finding the time, I am still so young, high school and my schedule sometimes put limits to my ambition regarding my business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Regarding the city life, one of the things I love the most about Miami is the diversity of people and cultures. There is plans for everyone, from high-budgets to low-budget spending. A simple day in South Pointe Beach with your friends, a picnic blanket and some food never goes wrong. I recommend going there early to watch the sunrise, when there is no one there. Jumping off from rock to rock in the coast and watching the sunrise and the cruises leave the port, is such an amazing experience. For high-budget spenders, I definitely recommend the Miami nocturnal lifestyle. There are so many restaurants such as Komodo, Gekko, Sexy Fish, Swan, etc, that will never go wrong if you want a luxurious, diner experience with your friends. Personally, I love festivals and concerts as well, and Miami is one of the biggest hotspots for events and celebrities. From latin singers to rap, hip-hop, country, house Djs and pop; there is such a crazy variety of cultures that interconnects here in the city, that is unique to any other place in the world.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Personally, I am extremely thankful for my immigrant parents for allowing my entrepreneurial mentality and ideas to flourish. My parents both graduated from college in Caracas, Venezuela. We moved here when I was 9 years-old, and my parents career in Venezuela could not be practiced here in the United States, so they had to start from, you guessed it — scratch. My father has always had initiative regarding business, selling and managing clients; this allowed him to create his own business here in the United States as an interior designer called @dinimobili- specializing in kitchen, closet, bar, and cabinet design and installing. He has always been my number one inspiration in having that initiative to start one’s own business, without being scared of failure. A famous quote once said: “Do you want to be safe and good, or do you want to take a chance and be great?”
