Meet Nicole Gonzalez-Cumberbatch | Mother, Top-rated Podcaster, Business Owner and Speaker.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Gonzalez-Cumberbatch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Before I had my son, work-life balance was never an issue. I worked hard, but I also took time off and made sure to use my vacation time. After my son was born, I struggled with finding the right work-life balance. Truthfully, I still struggle with it. Parenting is very encompassing, both physically and mentally, and it’s imperative to find a balance that works for me. One of the things I do is set boundaries with my time. I make sure not to overschedule my calendar, so I’m not going home feeling overwhelmed or stressed. Because when I feel stressed, my energy transfers to those around me, like my son and husband. I also give myself grace and understand that parenting and my work have different seasons. Each season will require more or less effort from me. For the past few months, I’ve been promoting and planning the first annual motherhood village summit, which required a lot of my time; therefore, other things have had to fall by the wayside. Once the summit is over, I will have more time to get back into working out and having a more consistent schedule. Work-life balance is an ongoing process, but it is something that you have to actively work towards so that you’re prioritizing your mental health and investing in your self-care.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created The Motherhood Village because it was something I wished I had when my son was first born. I provide webinars & workshops, a top-rated informative & inspiring podcast, a monthly support group, and now the first annual motherhood village summit. Motherhood does not come with a manual, and mothers often feel isolated in their struggles. My mission is to uplift mothers with meaningful connections and to support mothers, of all ages and stages, by providing them with the tools they need to navigate motherhood and beyond. Education and a robust support system are essential to the foundation of motherhood, and all mothers instinctively know what’s best for their families. However, there is something special about hearing stories you can relate to and connecting with people you may learn from. I am proud of the conversations I have been able to provide on my podcast and the value I have been able to bring to my community. Much more is to come, and I am excited about the future!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
South Florida has so much to do and see! If a friend were visiting, our itinerary would consist of a day at Fort Lauderdale beach, cocktails on the Pier6 Rooftop Bar in Pompano Beach, and a shopping day at Sawgrass Mills Mall. We’d also make time for brunch at Yard Bird in Miami Beach, dancing at Art Bar in Fort Lauderdale, strolling down Las Olas Boulevard, and ending the trip with an Everglades airboat ride.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I believe it takes a village to uplift a mother, and I am thankful for the village that inspires and encourages me. One of those people is my husband. He has poured his love and belief into me when I have been engulfed in self-doubt and fear. He has seen the ups and downs I have gone through, and his constant support has guided me and helped me overcome many fears as a new business owner. I am also thankful for my parents, mother-in-law, and sister, as they are always there when I need them, especially when it comes to spending time with my son, which allows me to work or spend much-needed time with my husband.
I also listen to inspiring & educational podcasts and have read books like Lifepass, Big Magic, and Atomic Habits that have been instrumental in my development and growth.
