We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Kopelman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
What makes me happy career wise is: working with gem stones and diamonds. My mother worked in the industry before I was born, and she had taught me so much even before I started my company. Secondly making the client feel important and happy with our services.

Personal life: my family. My husband and two boys. Nothing is more important than them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was in fashion wholesale after I graduated college and I was not happy. At 29 I started all over again, and that was to pursue my passion of working with gem stones and diamonds. I went to the GIA, teamed myself up with a Diamond manufacturing company and slowly built a clientele in private sales. After some years I started my website and grew my social media. There were definitely bumps in the road, but I kept my focus on what I wanted.

I think what sets us apart from other companies: At Nicole Rose Jewelry we have such a high customer return rate. I take pride that myself and the team is very caring, responsive, and the end result is to make the customer happy with a beautiful piece of jewelry.
I manage the social media myself and reply back to as many people as possible to answer their questions. Buying jewelry is a personal thing, and you want the client to be comfortable with their purchase.

I am proud of myself for what I and my team had achieved. My main focus is to keep growing all the while giving that specialty store feel. That the customer can feel at ease with any questions they may have.

My advice is to never give up. If you love what you do it’s all worth it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have been living in nyc for over 20 years. My interests have changed on where I eat and go out to. However at this moment I love going for brunch at sadelles, dinner at polo bar, carbone, sartianos, bond street. Get a drink at a lounge. The list is endless. I would take my best friend to a Broadway show, do a spa day at my favorite hotel Barrier in Tribeca, shop around soho and take walks in the west village.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother. She was a gemologist and I learned so much from her.

My twin sister who has always been my support.

Caroline Blanchard who is a dear friend of mine for over 7 years now. She is an amazing head makeup artist at Bravo and has always been a support of my jewelry and would refer me to the celebrities.
