We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Potts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My work life balance consist of a lot and has definitely changed over the past few years. I use to work non stop and rested whenever I got the chance. As I became a Life Coach, along with the experiences of my body crashing I realized how important it is to balance out your life. Being a mother of 3, a wife, having a day job and many other side businesses I wont lie it is hard and takes hard work to balance out everything. Having a planner and planning out my days with all my responsibilities has helped me a great deal of a lot. You have to decipher what is urgent from what is important when it comes to prioritizing. That is key. You also have to make time for yourself and to rest. Resting helps with your mental health. If you don’t have some type of balance and structure in your life, you will always feel overwhelmed and live in chaos. Although there may not be enough hours in a day to do everything you set out to do, change your thought process of having to complete everything right away. Allow yourself some grace and take your time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my growth in my designs and customers. I got to where I am today because I don’t try to impress others. All of my work comes from what is in my heart and mind. Each garment is made from my own hands so they are always authentic.

It definitely isn’t easy especially since I am the one designing and creating my garments. I can only do but so much at a time and I don’t like to rush my designs.

I overcome my challenges simply by facing them. I write them down then come up with ways of how I can solve them.

I’ve learned that I don’t have to make my brand to please everyone. It’s all about authenticity.

I want the world to know that you can do anything you set your mind to and that nothing worth having will come easy. I started my brand 2015 and I have great plans for my brand. With great foot work, practice, faith and patience, each goal I set out to do will come true.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Funny thing is that my bestfriend lives in NY & I miss her a lot. There will be a lot of dining, shopping and trips to the beach. She loves the beach. The museum, and just relaxing. She is also a woman who wears many hats, and sometimes just needs to get away to relax. We could just stay in, watch movies, play games and it will be the best time ever.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout Daisy Mariette. She is a Model icon who has given me my first platform to showcase my talent. Anytime she has a fashion show, she always show cases my designs. She is always looking out for others and helps other aspiring models to become their best on the runway.
