We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Vasco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
The most important thing I’ve done and that I pray impacts my girls, is living by example that they can design a life that is authentic to them, their talents and that brings them joy. Motherhood is my greatest accomplishment. To be able to chase my dreams by starting TheMompreneurProject.com, is something I do not take for granted. And by letting me girls see me do work that lights me up, I believe will impact them greatly when they become mothers.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a creative! I feel proud to say that because for a long time, I felt my creativity was stifled. Now I get to write about what interests me and help others by sharing my journey. This entrepreneurial path hasn’t been easy but has been filled with much-needed lessons. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how to manage my time and energy to get more done with my limited time as a mom, work more in alignment, and leaning more on my faith. I want other mom entrepreneurs to learn this as well. Our culture glorifies hustling. We love the grind. We praise #TeamNoSleep, but that’s not sustainable when running a business as a mom. I’ve learned to do things differently. By doing so, I am creating a business that doesn’t drain me and take me away from my children, and instead lights me up and allows me to be the kind of mom I want to be.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my bestie came to visit, I would take her to Pompano Beach for a day of sun, sand, and surf. After tanning, I would make the drive south to Davie to have dinner at the Rustic Inn. Crabs legs and sangria are my definitions of a good time! The next day we will start at Wynwood! I adore the beautiful murals at the Wynwood Walls and they make for great photo opportunities. We will then grab lunch at The Rusty Pelican for the gorgeous Downtown Miami skyline. Finally, we will end our weekend at iPic Miami. I love movies and miss going to the theatre so much! iPic is a fun yet fancy movie theatre that everyone needs to have at least once.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my husband. He believed in me and my ability to be successful working for myself. That means the world to me because I do what I do for my family.
