We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Foster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Its not really what but who and thats my amazing Mom. For a tad bit of backstory, my Mom is a stroke survivor which left her unable to talk. Its been 12 years and this woman still smiles and brings so much brightness to the world. My whole life I have watched her be a strong and resilient black woman in every aspect of life. I have watched her overcome everything with a smile everytime even when it hurt. If I inherit only half of her strength, I will be blessed to be that stong!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am literally a Boss in everything that I do. I wont say it has been easy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I move when and how I want to. I say that humbly but it needs to be said because I am an entrepreneur and that just means I bet on me period. I have had jobs and worked for others but the way I see it is I can go work for and believe in somebody else’s dreams everyday or I can go out here and work towords my own dreams. I have had some down days but every time I come out on top, it makes it all worth it for sure. Just to name a few things but not limit to: I’m an accountant and I have my own tax business, I also part own a recording label where I manage artist Guerilla Black, I have a cooking business where I sell soul food, I’m a plus size model, I’m a rapper and I would like to think I’m a pretty dope female artist. Like I said just to name a few but not limit it to. I want the world to know that I’m here, I’m BossLayD and I”m working!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friends and I are typically very busy. In real life we sometimes meet up to just sleep in the same house because all we have time to do together is sleep. With that being said, when we have time, we enjoy the ultimate relaxation. From laying out on the beautiful Miami Beach, to ordering city view massages…we relax! We do enjoy going out though, some of our favorite places to go to are Wet Willie’s and KOD (King of Diamonds) for nightlife. We pretty much try different spots to eat so I typically don’t remember too many of the restaurant names but mostly all of the restaurants on the strip are pretty vibrant and have their own specialties at each. I’m still learning new places everytime I visit so I just suggest going with whatever you’re feeling at the time, live on the edge a little and explore as you go, unless of course it’s something you have to make an appointment for ahead of time.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my Best Friend Jessheia Purdie and childhood friend Carlos Jones I lost both of them in 2018 and they were a big part of who I am. They encouraged me more than ever and I miss them so much the more that I gain success but I know they are still rooting me on. I love and miss you both more than words could ever express!
