We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Watarz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My goal is that my business has a positive impact the community, most importantly on women. We often compare ourselves to others, seeing their beauty while picking apart our “flaws” and rarely praising our own beauty. When a woman does a boudoir shoot, she gets to see herself in a different way and often falls in love, builds confidence and feels empowered!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I specialize in Boudoir Photography which is focused on capturing the sensual side of women. In addition to my clients having beautiful photos that they will cherish forever, I provide an experience that will make them feel amazing and empowered. We are a full service studio with an all female team ready to take care of all the details including hair and makeup, wardrobe styling, posing guidance, signature custom retouching, heirloom products and more. I want the Boudoir experience to be the ultimate self love experience for our clients!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being born and raised in Miami, I love it here! I love the beautiful and warm ocean water, I love the culture, I love our tropical landscape and so much more. I’m vegan so I’m always looking for a new vegan restaurant or festival. If a friend comes to visit we would probably spend half the time going to some of the touristy places like Wynwood, Miami Beach or Las Olas and the other half visiting the Keys. I’d also be just as happy sitting in my pool with a yummy cocktail.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can honestly say that I am lucky to have the support of my closest friends and family. Especially my husband, Nathan, who always encouraged and supported me while I was learning my passion and growing my business. I can also say that as a whole, the professional boudoir photographers community is so supportive. Over the years I’ve worked with a few mentors to get where I am and I am so grateful for the knowledge they’ve shared.
