We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikolina Fridman, the co-founder and CEO of Stockhomed, and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikolina, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Well, let me tell you, being the CEO of Stockhomed has taught me a lot about the world of interior design. People often assume that all we do is pick out furniture and throw some decor on the walls, but it’s so much more than that! We’re like wizards, weaving together a perfect blend of function and aesthetics to create a space that not only looks amazing but works flawlessly too. It’s a process that takes a ton of effort and time – from the initial brainstorming sessions to product sourcing, budgeting, and project management. And let’s not forget about those unexpected curveballs that always seem to pop up. You know, like when a product takes forever to arrive or when we have to deal with some unexpected structural issues – just to name a few. It’s a journey that requires a lot of skill, creativity, and attention to detail.
But it’s all worth it when we see our clients’ faces light up with joy and satisfaction. We take pride in knowing that we’ve crafted a space that perfectly reflects their needs and desires. And that’s why we work so hard at Stockhomed to deliver exceptional results. So, next time you’re admiring a beautifully designed space, take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of creating it. It’s not just about picking out a few pretty things – it’s a whole process, and we love every minute of it!

What should our readers know about your business?
At Stockhomed, we’re not your average interior design company. What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to sustainability and animal-friendly products. We believe that good design shouldn’t come at the expense of our planet and its inhabitants, and we’re dedicated to making sure that our designs reflect that.

We offer a wide range of services, including space planning, color consulting, material selection, and custom furniture design. Our team works closely with our clients to create spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also sustainable and kind to our furry friends.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the incredible team we’ve assembled at Stockhomed. Our company is women-owned and operated, and Simone Elderot, our interior designer, and I both hail from Stockholm. We’re all deeply passionate about design and work tirelessly to ensure that our clients get the best possible experience.

Our ultimate goal is to create spaces that our clients will adore for years to come – spaces that reflect their unique style while also being sustainable and kind to our planet. We’re not your typical interior design company, and we wouldn’t want it any other way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m thrilled to share my recommendations for a perfect day in Miami! As someone who enjoys exploring new places and trying out new foods, Miami offers an abundance of activities to indulge in. To kick off the day, I highly recommend El Bagel on Biscayne Blvd for a bagel breakfast, especially their supreme lox. Despite bagels not being a big thing in my home country of Sweden, I have a peculiar obsession with them, and this place truly delivers the best. Afterward, we would soak up the sunshine at the beach and perhaps even bring our breakfast with us.

For the rest of the day, there are many options to explore Miami’s vibrant culture. We could visit Wynwood for the art scene and stop by Zac the Baker for some freshly baked bread. The Perez Art Museum is also worth checking out, with lunch at Verde, and Miami Design District for some shopping and Peruvian food at Itamae.

Other lunch options that I would recommend are La Valentina Mexican Kitchen for delicious fish tacos, Mandolin Aegean Bistro for the ambiance and Greek cuisine, and Miami Slice for great pizza slices (although expect to wait in line, it’s worth it).
For dinner, we would head to Omakai Sushi in Wynwood, Mila or Lucali on South Beach. To enjoy drinks and good music, Dante’s HiFi, The Living Room at Faena Hotel, or Don’t Sit On The Furniture are all great options. Miami truly offers something for everyone, and I hope these recommendations inspire others to explore this beautiful city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Let me give a big shout-out to the incredible Simone Elderot – the founder of Stockhomed and the powerhouse behind our success! Simone’s passion for design and her business savvy have been a driving force in shaping our brand and helping us become a prominent player in the interior design industry.

Under her leadership, we’ve cultivated a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence – and it’s an honor to be a part of it. Simone inspires us all to work hard and strive for greater heights, and we’re so grateful for her vision and guidance.
Of course, we wouldn’t be where we are without our amazing team at Stockhomed. They’re the backbone of our success, working tirelessly every day to bring our vision to life. Their hard work, dedication, and creativity are fundamental to everything we do, and we’re lucky to have them on board.

And let’s not forget about our wonderful clients! We’re so grateful for their trust and support, allowing us to turn their design dreams into reality. It’s an absolute joy to work with each and every one of them, and we’re proud to have played a role in creating beautiful spaces that they love.

So, cheers to Simone, our amazing team, and our wonderful clients – we wouldn’t be here without you all!
