We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Harrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, we’d love to hear about a book that’s had an impact on you.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This is my personal bible for life and career. I first learned about this book years ago from watching an interview of Will Smith. The main character, Santiago, has such an inspiring journey to follow his heart’s desire. He goes through so many trials and tests while following his dream of going to the pyramids to find his treasure. His journey teaches that once we set our minds to achieve something, the Universe will always conspire in our favor to reach our dreams. It has inspired me to never give up on my dreams and has given me the confidence to go after anything I want in life.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am what is referred to as an “intrapreneur”, which is someone who works a corporate job, but is also an entrepreneur on the side developing my own business ventures. As a single mother of 3, I have always been focused on making sure my household has some stable safety net created by a secure job, while also working on creating generational wealth through my own business endeavors. For instance, for eight (8) years, I was working as a corporate attorney at a mega entertainment conglomerate, ViacomCBS (now Paramount). During my time as an employee, I still managed to run my own cosmetic line for 2 years, and then further out formed my own sports management consultant business, NINA’S PLAYBOOK MANAGEMENT CONSULTING GROUP, LLC, working with college-level and professional athletes in the sports marketing and management space, which I am currently operating and developing. No matter the struggles, financially and emotionally, I remained focused. The key thing built within myself over the years is RESILIENCE.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely fit in the following, in no particular order: – Brunch at Bistro Cafe off 13th street and 1st Ave. “Best Brunch in Miami”
– Yacht ride (day and night)
– Eat, Drink and Vibes at Red Rooster, in Overtown
– Haulover Beach vibes (clothing optional)
– Tuesday night party at “Rum and Bass” at Coyo Taco in Wynwood
– Definitely catch a Miami Heat game, during basketball season, or a Dolphins game during football season

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think sending a Shoutout to just one or two persons would do a disservice to everyone in my life that played a role in my personal and career development. From business executives, to personal friends and family, I have had the pleasure of organically connecting with the right people in my life at the right times to help me along my journey to get to where I am today and where I am going in the future; which I am sure there will be more along the way to help me in the right direction. I am a firm believer that everyone you meet in life has a purpose, whether temporary or long term.
