We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I first decided to start my business, I thought heavily about financial freedom. I wanted to be more than just a consumer. I wanted to provide women with fashion accessories that will improve their looks and self-esteem.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently an Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher. I have been teaching students with various exceptionalities for five years. I posses a Bachelor’s degree in ESE K-12 and a Master’s degree in Reading Education K-12. I have learned several lessons along the way that have deepened my level of knowledge in the field of education. I can say I got to where I am now, thanks to the lessons that my students have presented me with that help me to adjust my teaching skills accordingly. I overcame all obstacles with my continued faith in God. I definitely would not be where I am today if it had not been for my dedication and faith. Aside from teaching, I put the same skills into my business that I would in my career of being a teacher. I want people to know that all things are possible with hard work, consistency, and dedication.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a home body and enjoy being home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my family, friends, and those who have supported and trusted in my brand, Edith Accessories.
