We had the good fortune of connecting with Ninél Sargsyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ninél, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
‘Ninél Alberti’, is based on my works done on fabric which is called batik. It is a type of an art that you can paint on cloth, bags, shoes and etc. For me, batik, is a way of inspiration.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The most important factor of my brand, ‘Ninél Alberti’ is my love of the arts. I grew up in a family of artists and I can’t imagine if I could have chosen a different career. I am Armenian and I am proud to carry with me the ancient history and culture of my Armenian nation. Every artist chooses their way of showing their work. I admire the history and richness of the colors from different nations and showcase it in my artwork. Challenges are an everyday thing that escorts people all the time and everywhere. Without challenges, there is no drive in life
I am a member of the Artists Union of the Republic of Armenia and UNESCO. My artwork has been collected by private collectors and museums around the world. I promote a message of acceptance and unity. With my artwork I want to replenish lives of people with kindness and happiness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As of this is my second year living in LA, I did not have a lot of chance to explore the city. Being a lover of live music, I enjoy attending events created by Pasadena Project, which is located in Pasadena city and you can find them by Instagram or Facebook. Also, I love spending a time in Malibu and stoping by an amazing restaurant called ‘The Sunset Restaurant’ and enjoying the delicious food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have a lot of talented friends to whom I would love to give credit. But I will shout out my five friends who live in US. One of them is Elen Mkrtchyan, who is a special effects makeup artist for film and television the other one is Arka Manukyan who is a Producer, film director and editor, next is, Bhargava Poludasu who is a Producer and film director, also Karmen Yerevantsi who is a founder and producer of Pasadena Project and finally Val Hovanesian who is a Founder and CEO at Reval Production and films.
