We had the good fortune of connecting with Nisha Merrifield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nisha, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember my authenticity. My energy is very powerful and I love being able to create a safe space for others to be themselves without judgement. Individuality is something to celebrate.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Spiritual Life Coach and Content Creator. Being a life Coach started when I was hired by the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township. I worked with high school aged youth and It was a great experience. When I worked there it made me realize my impact on others just by being an undying support and motivator. What I learned is that people (especially youth) just need someone to show up and encourage them to see their own value. Society has conditioned us to think that our worth comes from materialism and outside validation when it truly starts from within. That’s when the “spiritual” aspect became bigger for me – everything begins with self.
Content creating started just by having Instagram and Tik Tok, however I started to take it seriously when I started to receive positive feedback on what I was posting. Then I became more intentional and consistent.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
South Beach on Ocean Drive is where all the vibes are at especially at night during the weekend. We are definitely going to Pizza Days which is in south beach on Ocean Drive. I absolutely love their Greek salads. I also love P. Pole Pizza on Washington Ave. I am all about creating experiences so we’d go to the beach around 6pm-ish, grab the speaker, ring light and create an epic beach party. Meeting people and making connections! Followed up with yoga on the beach in the mornings.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents – I was adopted when I was about 7. My mom taught me strength and resilience while my dad taught me about my faith.
My daughter – OliviaBrooklyn is 3 and she completely changed my life. She has lit me up on some of my darkest days.
God – enough said.
I don’t know where I would be today without these major components in my life. I am very grateful.
