We had the good fortune of connecting with Nosa Blessed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nosa, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Nigeria. I was born in a Christian home where my parents were very God-fearing and so they passed this principle to all their children. We were taught to honour God, and respect each other no matter the age or class.

And so with this principle I have learnt to guide my home as a husband and a father.

The environment was not that healthy, as there were things that would easily distract my focus. Like violence, poverty, and other political brutality and insecurity. But what led me through all of this was God and the help of my parents.

The church also played a vital role in my decision making and upbringing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most excited about my musical career, and where I am today. I have learnt that effort and practice as been my ultimate key. And above all, God as been my inspiration.

The journey was tough, trying to meet up to the standards and expectations of the Gospel music industry. Pleasing everyone musically is not something that can be accomplished in one song. I have learnt to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and His instructions.
Also. I pay close a ttention to every details in my writings.

I have learnt to be patient, humble, and prayerful. No matter what may rise.

I want the world to be encouraged through the inspiration of my Gospel music. And to be free from their burdens.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to acknowledge God as the author of my faith, my wife, my producer, and my church ministry.
