We had the good fortune of connecting with Nzingah Oniwosan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nzingah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
365zing was birthed out of my personal health journey and my desire to help close the health disparities we see with black women. Between the ages of 12-14, I found myself in a health crisis. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor, an autoimmune disorder called scleroderma, as well as polycystic ovary syndrome. I was told that I would have to be on medication for the rest of my life in order to thrive. Ten years later I felt there had to be another way and that all the choices that available to me were never presented. I moved forward with a lifestyle change during that process I took several trainings and received certifications that allowed me to own my healing process. I struggled with staying on track with her self-care for 19 years, trying anything and everything to stay on track when it came to her mental, physical, & spiritual health. I found things that helped in one area but not overall. I decided to immerse myself in research. Fifteen years later, I had unlocked new insights and technology about self-care and my app 365zing was awakened. 365Zing centralizes features found separately on individual apps in one place to help black women get on track with their health goals physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work involves the integration of several disciplines I am a multi-disciplinary artist, holistic wellness consultant, and social entrepreneur. I am an anomaly because I do quite a few things very well and it allows me to view the world in a multifaceted way and create dynamic solutions to issues. Fifteen and years ago I took a leap to become self-employed and have acquired some amazing contracts with large institutions because of my proficiency and my ability to provide amazing results. The journey was not straightforward and had many challenges which included me pivoting because of the economic crisis. My ability to pivot and a dynamic way and learn trends and patterns with respect to my industry has allowed me to survive. Creating Yes Baby I lIke It Raw was one of the bigger achievements as it was the collision of my personal wellness journey with my training as a holistic health practitioner, yoga teacher, and chef in all one place. I have helped hundreds of people be well. It allowed me to do the research I needed to create my app 365zing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. It has been one of my favorite nature centers in Florida since I was a child. The center has an amazing tropical fish aquarium, butterfly garden, and sea turtle rehabilitation. The best part is the boardwalk to the beach. This leads me to our next stop which is the beach. After spending time in the sun and catching some waves we head to Raw Juice for a smoothie before heading to Yoga Joint for a hot yoga class. After a quick reset, we would head to Planta for an amazing plant-based dinner. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dr. Laila Afrika and Tara Reed from Apps without Code allowed me to birth my app. Dr. Afrika helped me heal myself and then trained me as a holistic practitioner. This set the foundation for my work as a holistic practitioner and really brought how everything is integrated and we must look at the mind-body relationship in order to truly heal ourselves. Tara Reed’s course Apps without Code allowed me to build my app myself. I looked at having someone build the app for me but felt it would be better if I created the app myself because I understand how I wanted the app to work. The app really empowered me to build the app of my dreams and I couldn’t have done it without the program,
