We had the good fortune of connecting with Ohene Cornelius and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ohene, how does your business help the community?
The Harlem River Yacht Club is a dynamic organization that not only focuses on event planning, talent connecting, and community services but also boasts a successful street and yacht wear brand. Their events are meticulously curated, showcasing the talents of African American artists and creatives in various forms, such as exhibitions, performances, and workshops. By bringing together artists, industry professionals, and enthusiasts, these events serve as vibrant platforms for networking, collaboration, and skill development. Our goal is to get Black People, post slavery back to water. Drinking water, learning to swim, and owning property close to water.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a musician, actor, and owner of the Harlem River Yacht Club, my art is a fusion of diverse influences, blending music, performance, and a unique venue experience. What sets me apart is the ability to create immersive atmospheres where people can escape and connect with the arts. My journey wasn’t easy, filled with challenges, but overcoming them taught me resilience and the importance of staying true to my vision. I’m proud of creating spaces that celebrate creativity, and I want the world to know that my brand is about breaking boundaries and inspiring others to pursue their passions fearlessly. Meditation and space for self were key to creating a safe space for myself to address and adjust the issues of being a successful creative.
