We had the good fortune of connecting with Ohouo Goa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ohouo, how do you think about risk?
Wow! Risk is everything. I believe that the person who doesn’t take risks has nothing. Only when you risk and purposely stretch yourself outside of your comfort zone can you grow and develop a deeper intimacy with self. You don’t know what you don’t know about yourself, right? But this could be different if you dare and risk everything. By trying new and uncomfortable things you get to know a part of yourself that would have never been tapped into if you have caved into fears.
This applies to life but also to love since you can only truly love when you risk it all. And this is the beauty of life. Embracing the different seasons but not being mummified by pain, your fear of failure, fear of disappointment, fear of rejection, fear of success, or fear of intimacy and not enoughness.
As for my story – I left my corporate job and steady income to start my own coaching business during COVID, uncertainty you would say… lol. In addition, I dare to date myself to self intimacy on a weekly basis. I constantly challenge myself to expand and adopt the identity I desire to prosper in my relationships, career, and life. My life journey is one of risk taking despite my fears and internal dialogues.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the Intimacy Maven, and I help women find self intimacy after their heartbreak through different modalities. I truly believe that the key to healing is self intimacy which is reflected in my practice. When you dare to peel the layers off and reconnect to your essence you allow yourself to be unapologetically you, release repressed emotions, heal your mind, body, soul, and heart, and most importantly accept all of you; the good and the bad, the failures and the successes, and the butterflies and the wounds.
What sets me apart from others is my resilience even after being buried by my fears and captive by my demons multiple times. I can hold space for you to connect to your abyss since I have been there before and show you how to triumph and break free. In three words, I would say connectedness, vulnerability, and self intimacy.
I have just completed my first virtual retreat From Heartbreak To Ecstasy. And it was a tremendous success. I get excited to empower women and make them realize that they have a choice. A choice to be single, a choice to leave their abusive relationship, a choice to mend their heart, a choice to choose them, and a choice to say no and to be unique.
I believe that as women we stay longer in the wrong relationships by fear of disappointing our parents, fitting in, or even by fear of being lonely. Love, you have a choice and reclaiming your true power and inherent birthright does not make you a burden or a failure. It is time we reprogram our beliefs and empower the next generation. The movement could be started with reclaiming your true power by “dating yourself to self intimacy”. Your power of intimacy, vulnerability, enoughness, and love. I can go on and on but let’s stop here for now.
I broke my leg in 2018 and was faced with the pain and yet another heartbreak. I am not sure which one was the worst. Humor me… I would say the breakup. I then self published my book Breakups, Healing, and Self Love: Find Inner Peace to mend my heart and find hope. Why? Because of my countless breakups and my struggle to bounce back.
The book was for me and a friend of mine, who was in the same ordeal, heartbreak. You see, my friends always came up to me to bounce back from their heartbreak. I guess I had a reputation… lol. During my healing journey, I realized that as women we lose our identity and self after every breakup without having the tools to reconnect to the woman we are and have become. Hence I have vowed to help women feel vibrant, lit up, and in love with themselves after their heartbreak. Ohouo, LLC was then born. It has not been easy because I had to conquer my demons in the process of building my empire. The journey is ongoing but has been successful since I am empowering women and myself in the process. I have overcome every challenge by leaning on my faith, being resilient, doing the internal work, and allowing mentors to uplift me and provide the skills required to move on to the next phase and the next and the next. Takeaway: You are limitless only if you believe it!!!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
