We had the good fortune of connecting with Omar Barreiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Omar, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
The search of material things….not it, the never ending party and relaxed life….not it, lot of friends and likes on social media…..not it. Success, for me is that feeling i get when I go out with my family and I can pay for gas or a meal, with the money I earned spending time doing things I enjoy and I once dreamed, feeling happy with what I have not having to give up more of what makes me happy, that balance I define as SUCCESS.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I train food handlers, bartenders, restaurant managers and restaurant owners With over 22 years running restaurant operations, bars night clubs, food trucks I have learned about logistics, best practices functional layouts and staff retention.
COVID was the time I had to make a decision between quitting and giving up or preparing myself and getting ready to start my own consulting business for restaurants where I could provide all the information I gained in over 2 decades.
Chef´s Stop Hospitality Solutions LLC is a 5 star company I run and Amistad Grill is my restaurant concept created on 2019
While I strive to provide the best quality on everything I do I continue go learn new trends and upgrades in the industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami Florida is a wonderful city my brother has a slingshots rental, I will definitely start there Renting one of these vehicles is super fun, I will take them go eat breakfast and a great meal at Amistad Grill in Homestead
Night out to dance at La Mesa Doral super cool night club in Doral, i will take them go Hollywood beach, wonderful beaches
Obviously a visit to coral gables is a must, coconut grove, and the south beach area

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My story still in the filming location, continuing writing…. but my biggest dedication goes to my family: my wife Veronica, my daughter Lucia, my son Omar without them my story would not be so colorful and full of fun. My wife survived breast cancer like a warrior showing me that we are unstoppable and that pain is temporary and the skin regenerates.
My daughter, role-model student, super smart girl. A diehard swiftie, she can recítate the entire Hamilton musical
And plays the piccolo like nobody else, her determination and focus is one of my favorite motivations
My son, Omar’s six pack and style is definitely a replica of how I looked when I was 15
I love my family and they are my everything, I thank God every day and every night for the privilege of being their priest.
