We had the good fortune of connecting with Ottoweiss Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ottoweiss, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My aspiration to initiate my own venture was fundamentally driven by a profound desire to positively impact individuals’ lives. I perceived entrepreneurship as a platform to cultivate solutions that address pressing societal needs, fostering empowerment, and facilitating progress. The force within me stemmed from an earnest yearning to extend assistance, leveraging innovation as a conduit for meaningful change. In essence, my entrepreneurial journey was motivated by a heartfelt commitment to serving others and contributing to the betterment of our collective human experience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our goal at Me Mentoring is simple: to advance our mentees in all facets of life. We are committed to empowering and enlightening them with basic life skills, as well as social skills and etiquette. What sets us apart is our different curricula focused on and geared toward various age groups: women with women, men with men, boys with boys, and girls with girls. In a study group environment, we provide them with important life skills through team building, hands-on projects, and outings to strengthen the bonds within our programs. We began with just a handful of women and have since expanded to include men and boys. Building and growing haven’t always been easy, but with each challenging season comes an even greater reward. Witnessing a mentee grow and develop into who they were meant to be makes every challenge faced worth it tenfold. I have learned to be steadfast, patient, and ultimately persevere through anything life throws my way. I want the world to know that success is possible for each and every one of us. You just have to stay focused, stay strong, and true to yourself and your goals. Don’t ever accept anything less than excellence!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a penchant for fine dining and shopping. Some of my favorite places in my city are restaurants like Steak 48, Weber Grill, and Wishbone Restaurant. We would enjoy a week filled with fine dining, shopping at places like Macy’s and Nordstrom, and plenty of quality time together. In addition to these activities, we could walk on the beach, and enjoy jazz music around the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
At the risk of sounding self centered, or conceited, I would like to dedicate my shoutout to myself. Let me explain; there are many that assist, and many that have inspired me and my projects and dreams. However, they started with me. The dreams I have and the vision that has been carried out, has all came from me. I’ve always known that I was different and meant for something bigger than was expected of me. I wanna shoutout myself for never giving in and never giving up. For holding myself to a higher standard than anyone else. The sacrifices that have been made, and the wins that I have had, yes I have had assistance. And I am grateful for every single person in my life that has helped. But the dream and the fulfillment of the vision, starts and ends with me and my heart.
