We had the good fortune of connecting with Pablo Falcon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pablo, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Thinking of the band as a business has lead to changes in the way we go about getting things done. The balance between doing things for fun and pleasure, and being productive has been a never-ending journey to figure out. In my opinion have to carve out dedicated time slots in your day to the “business”. That means sitting behind the computer and looking at the list of objectives: book show, build website, check finances, do research. But you also gotta actively feed the source of your creativity through discovering new music and jamming with your friends.
Most importantly, when its time to rest, put the distractions away and let yourself truly recover so you can give it your all the next day.

I used to get caught up in constantly checking the numbers. I’d check it while driving, while spending quality time with my girlfriend, before bed and first thing in the morning. It was getting obsessive and taking a toll on my mental health. You have to know when to step away and be a human. Trust yourself to get the work done when it’s the right time, not all the time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The sound of our band comes from an amalgamation of 80’s, 90’s and 00’s rock and metal. We love bands such as Primus, Metallica, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Tool, Incubus, Alexisonfire, Breaking Benjamine, System of a Down, and a bunch others. Honestly speaking, we are not where we’d like to be quite yet. We’re still working on creating a streamlined process for recording and releasing music, so we can put it out as fast as we write it. We’d also like to grow our fanbase throughout the whole state of Florida through touring, which we haven’t done much of yet. 5 years down the line, I see us with an expansive online presence catering to loyal fans all around the world.
We’d like to create a community of Love and unity among our peers, and anyone we cross paths with.

In terms of writing music, I think we’re on the right track. It’s a never-ending journey to see where life takes us, and what sounds we can continue to squeeze out of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my buddy came down to sunny South Florida, we’d hit the beach and climb around some banyan trees. Then I’d take them to Sandwiches by the Sea in Delray Beach for a crabmeat sub and salt and vinegar chips. We’d mosey our way on over to Undergrounds Coffeehaus to see a band play, then go to Glitch Bar so we can play Killer Queen and drink beer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ll give a shoutout to Aileen and everyone else who works at Undergrounds Coffeehaus in Ft Lauderdale. When we first started to book our own shows, she was so helpful and kind in renting out the venue, and being accommodating to us. That place is legendary and deserves all the recognition in the world for its comfy couches and loaded tater tots.
