We had the good fortune of connecting with Pablo Merida and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pablo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business came from a combination of passion, purpose, and recognizing a gap in the market. I’ve always been drawn to visual storytelling and how powerful images and videos can be when it comes to making a lasting impression. When I looked at the real estate industry, I noticed there was a need for high-quality, emotionally engaging media that could truly elevate how properties are presented.

Golden Light Studio was born from that idea — to create more than just photos and videos, but to craft experiences that help agents and homeowners showcase their properties in the best possible light. I wanted to offer something that stood out: a mix of technical expertise, artistic vision, and an understanding of what actually moves people to act.

The entrepreneurial path allowed me to shape a business that reflects my values — creativity, professionalism, and excellence — while also giving me the freedom to innovate and adapt to the evolving needs of the real estate market.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Golden Light Studio is a real estate media company that specializes in high-quality photography, cinematic videos, 3D tours, drone services, and tailored marketing kits designed to help real estate professionals present properties in the most captivating way. What truly sets us apart is our professionalism, punctuality, and our commitment to delivering excellent, impactful work every time.

One of the key elements that differentiates us is the advanced platform we use to deliver our services — it allows our clients to access everything in one place, including a complete Marketing Kit with social media-ready content, property websites, flyers, and more. This adds tremendous value for our clients and elevates the way they market their listings.

Getting to where we are today was far from easy. I migrated to a new country that welcomed me with open arms, but everything was completely unfamiliar. For several years, I worked in restaurants while supporting my family back in Cuba, all while studying, learning, and chasing my dream. It meant long hours, sleepless nights, and sacrifices — including the painful reality of leaving behind loved ones I would never see again.

Along the way, I learned that no path worth taking is ever easy. Life demands sacrifices, and in pursuit of our goals, we often lose people, face exhaustion, and question ourselves. But it also teaches us to appreciate the lessons every person and experience leaves in our lives. I’ve learned that clarity of purpose in life and hard work are non-negotiable. There are no shortcuts, but there’s always growth in the process.

What I’d love for the world to know about my story is that it’s one of perseverance, sacrifice, and determination — just like so many people around the world, fighting their own battles, and chasing their own dreams. Every journey matters, and behind every business, there’s a personal story filled with moments of struggle, hope, and gratitude.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d make sure they experience what truly makes Miami so special — its incredible mix of cultures, especially the strong Cuban influence that has shaped so much of the city’s identity. But also those spots with that unmistakable American flavor that makes Miami such a unique and dynamic place.

We’d start in Coconut Grove, one of my favorite areas, where the mix of history, charm, and modern lifestyle is impossible to miss. From there, a must-see is Calle 8 in Little Havana, where you can feel the heart of Cuban culture — the music, the food, the art, and of course, a good cafecito at one of the local ventanitas.

We’d definitely explore Brickell, with its vibrant nightlife, amazing restaurants, and beautiful skyline views. Coral Gables and South Miami would also be on the list — every city within Miami has its own vibe, its own story, and it’s the people who live there that make it so unique and special.

And because this is such a big part of my life, I’d definitely bring them along for a day of real estate photography and editing! It might sound like work, but for me, it’s passion — and it’s a great way to see some of Miami’s incredible homes and neighborhoods from a different perspective.

Miami is a city of stories, flavors, rhythms, and people from everywhere, and that’s exactly what makes it one of the most exciting and beautiful places in the world.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely — my story wouldn’t be what it is without the love, support, and inspiration of the people around me. First and foremost, I dedicate everything I do to my family. To my amazing wife, who is my constant source of strength, encouragement, and unconditional love, and to our baby on the way — they are the heart behind everything I build and dream of.

I also want to honor my mother, whose resilience and values shaped the person I am today, and my grandmother, who, even from far away in Cuba, continues to be a guiding light in my life. I carry the memory of my father and my grandmother on his side, both of whom have passed, but I know they walk with me every step of the way.

And of course, to all my loved ones, friends, and those who have believed in me — I carry a little piece of each one of them in everything I do. Their words, their love, and their presence continue to inspire and push me forward on this journey.
