We had the good fortune of connecting with Pamela Groove and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pamela, why did you pursue a creative career?
I decided to become an artist since I was very little, to be honest I never had a “plan B” I always knew I was going to become an artist. Growing up, all I ever wanted was to be on stage and to connect with people with art. After I graduated of performing arts in Guatemala, I decided it was time for me to release all the music I’ve been writing since I was a child. In 2020 I started releasing my music with the help of the best producers. For me nothing fulfil my soul the way art does, art in any shape or form. I’m 25 years old now, and there is still no plan B. I’m a Guatemalan artist based in Miami and I’m currently directing a short film and working on my next music videos.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started making music when I was very young. My main focus has always being able to tell my stories, and make people feel identified with my most deeply thoughts. My unique sound, has taken me to many different cities. When is time to create music I always try to engage with my audience and experiment, music is about experimenting. It hasn’t been easy, but luckily since the beginning I was able to count with the best producers, engineers, and a beautiful team that has helped me accomplish my goals since the start. I have learned that if you want to be a successful artist , you have to keep releasing your art and don’t stop, Even when you feel like there’s not too many people supporting you, because at the end of the day, you’re not alone if you have yourself. I want people to know that it is possible to travel with your art, and it is absolutely possible if you decide to put the work on it. I grew up doing theatre, musicals and commercials and one thing that has helped me through the years is to know that I am original and that nobody else can do what I do and that’s the beautiful thing about art, that no one can take away from you your creativity and originality.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start the day by going for a walk or for a run to Miami Beach, then go to have some breakfast at Buena Vista Deli, then probably I with take my friend to wynwood walls for a walk and to take some cool pictures, after we would go to Perez Art Museum and we would have diner at Gekko restaurant.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Huge shout out to Leyton Eme, my publisher, Weedmacker my friend and music producer, Cristian Brolo, friend and video producer, for your incredible work and support since the very beginning. And to my parents for raising me surrounded by art in all its forms and expressions.
