Meet Paris S. Chanel | Model | Fashion, Luxury, and Travel Influencer, Blogger, & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Paris S. Chanel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paris S., what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
All of my life, since a toddler, I have been creative. I used to draw and color a lot. My grandmother is an excellent artist who drew full portraits of people and cartoons. I knew that I drew much of my artistic skills from her. At a very young age, it was apparent to me that I would be doing something in the creative realm; I just was not sure what that looked like. When I got to college, I was introduced to Marketing by a fantastic professor. I fell in love with it and the many different avenues that could be taken. Advertising was one of them. After college, as I took a break from the corporate sector, I decided to focus on my modeling career. In the midst of that, I discovered content creation and influencer marketing. It was a way to express myself and have, at minimum, 90% control of the creative direction. Doing this and working with brands I could have only dreamed of working for significantly impacted my life. I found my passion in modeling and found my calling in Marketing. This is why I chose to pursue the field.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a full-time model and luxury-fashion-travel influencer, blogger, and content creator. I am also attending school to get my Doctorate in Strategic Media and Digital Marketing. I started modeling at the age of 12 years old. That led to many successes. A few of those are becoming the first African American Spokesmodel of the International Bikini Model Search in 2014. After this success, it led to my being published with GQ Mexico, FHM Spain, Playboy Mexico, and Maxim South Africa. I was also placed on many magazine covers. In 2016, I took a break from my modeling career to focus on helping others in my hometown and surrounding areas build their modeling and acting careers by opening up The Paris Chanel Agency, which was the first legitimate Black-owned agency in my town that represents talent of all ages, sizes, heights, and ethnicities. Due to the pandemic, the agency closed its doors in January 2022. In the midst of having the agency, I started working as an influencer but was not taking it as seriously, but the opportunities started rolling in, and I began to realize that this was what I was truly meant to be doing. Once the agency closed, I took back the reigns of my modeling career and hit the ground running. My modeling and influencing started intertwining, and everything started to make sense. I became a playboy Playmate and cover model in March 2022. Later, in June of 2022, I graced the cover of L’Officiel India. I was able to use my titles and accomplishments to gain brand deals, partnerships, and attend Miami Swim Week as a celebrity guest. I have also been able to creative direct and style some of my own shoots, which was fun.
While it all sounds glamorous, it is not easy. What people do not get to see is the constant discrimination that I have to face and have had to face throughout my career. The times of discouragement and self-doubt. The times of sleepless nights being exhausted and drained. The constant feeling of not being made to feel like you belong in these rooms with people you admire and want to network with. It is a continuous battle. I could literally write a book. The lesson that I continuously learn is that what is meant for me is meant for me, and what God has in store for me no man can interfere with.
I want the world to know that I am someone who came from the bottom. Nothing was ever handed to me. I have always had to work 10X as hard. I am never giving up on my dreams. I see myself gracing the red carpets of Cannes and movie premieres and being a fashion icon in this life of mine. I plan to keep pushing to make all of those dreams come true. I hope that people support my journey and continue to book me as an influencer, and invite me to their events.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a major Shoutout to my mother and grandmother. They have both been my rocks throughout my career. They had sacrificed even when it was their last to make sure that I could do certain things and be in the right rooms with those who could help my career go to the next level. They have been my greatest inspirations. I also want to give recognition to my photographers and hair/makeup teams that have stuck it out with me over the years. It does not go unnoticed.
