We had the good fortune of connecting with Paula Muñoz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paula, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because it allows me to express myself creatively and connect with others in a unique and meaningful way. Art has always been a part of my life, and I realized that following this path would give me the opportunity to explore my passions and share my perspective with the world. The freedom to experiment, tell stories, and evoke emotions through my work is something that truly excites me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is an extension of who I am, and what sets me apart is the authenticity I bring to everything I do. From content creation to photography, I’ve always been driven by the desire to share real, meaningful stories whether they’re mine or someone else’s.
When I came to the U.S., I didn’t speak English and ended up doing jobs I didn’t enjoy. It wasn’t easy, but I knew there was something more for me. That’s when I started creating content on my own, building my photography business, and launching my podcast where I share my life experiences. I also work as a newborn photographer at a hospital, which is a unique experience. Balancing all these things wasn’t easy, but I stayed focused on my passions.
Currently, I’m almost done with my career in Digital Marketing as I’m still in school, and this has helped shape the way I approach my brand.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that the journey is rarely straightforward. There will be challenges, but staying true to your passion and being persistent is key. I’m proud of the community I’ve built and the ability to use my platforms to inspire and connect with others.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I do comes from a place of love for storytelling. Whether it’s through my photos, my podcast, or my content, I aim to share experiences that resonate with others and create meaningful connections.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start with a bagel from Ess-a-Bagel and enjoy a little picnic at Central Park, visiting Bethesda Fountain, which is featured in Gossip Girl. After that, I’d stroll down 34th Street for some classic New York shopping. For lunch, I’d grab a slice of pizza from Joe’s Pizza.
In the afternoon, I’d head to Summit One Vanderbilt for some amazing photos with stunning skyline views. After lunch, I’d go to The Edge for more great photo opportunities.
In the evening, I’d explore Grand Central Terminal and then visit The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to take in some contemporary art. To wrap up the day, I’d enjoy a slice of pizza from Joe’s Pizza.
On another day, I’d visit the Museum of Ice Cream for a fun and interactive experience. I’d also spend some time walking through SoHo, exploring its trendy shops and street art.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to a few key people and influences that have helped shape my journey:
First, my family, especially my mom and dad, who have always believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my passions. Their unconditional support has been everything to me.
Next, my partner, who has been incredibly supportive of my influencer and photography career in every aspect. They’ve always encouraged me to follow my dreams and have been a constant source of motivation.
Then, my audience and community without their trust, engagement, and connection, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They continuously inspire me to create and share authentic content.
I also want to recognize my therapist, who has guided me through personal challenges and helped me reshape my mindset toward self-love and acceptance. They’ve played a huge role in how I approach both my personal and professional life.
