We had the good fortune of connecting with Pauline Dillon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pauline, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I enjoy working on my own, the freedom to work on my own time is definitely a plus, and I totally enjoy being a mentor and coach to young people. I enjoy helping others to grow to their full potential. And the inspiration to write my books, I wanted to share my story to encourage others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, my career path, it was not easy, it came with lots of challenges, ups and downs. However, I strived for success by setting my goals, attend evening school and try to be discipline, to work at achieving those goals no matter how difficult my situation was. Some of the lessons I learned along the way and may still be learning is that life, it will often times give you lots of lemon, but it is maybe how I choose to mix it, that will either let me win or loose. And I should never give up no matter my situation, have the mindset that I can do this. And a scripture that I have kept very close which I write out above my goals on my wall yearly is Philippians 4v13 “I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthen me.” One job I did and was very excited about, and felt very fulfilled about was when I worked with the Inner city children in the Mentorship Program at Jamaica Youth for Christ. It was great helping those children. The Program was a after School Program. It engaged them in specific areas, teaching them about love and respect, of self, and others also social skills.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are lots of nice Hotels on the North Coast in Jamaica, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, they offer nice fun packages which are, all inclusive, with nice beaches, good tasting food and amazing places around the immediate area with night entertainment in the evenings, I would take my friend to one of those Hotels.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I can think of several persons, but the one person I would give a shout out to is my Gym Instructor Mr. Raphael Royal. He is a great trainer/instructor. I have known him for over fifteen years and he has helped me to keep up with my exercise program month after month year after year. Big thank you to him for this.
