We had the good fortune of connecting with Pedro Rojas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pedro, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I was younger I fell in love with EDM music and some artists, one day I went to a family member’s party and the Dj put me on the stage with her. At that moment I realize that I want to be there too, I wanted to be the one playing incredible sounds and making other people happy so at the age of 11 started “Djing” and then one night, many years later after a very bad party I remember that great old feeling that 5 years earlier a DJ made me feel after hearing a Martin Garrix song in the car, at that moment I knew that events, parties, and festivals, were made for people to be happy and enjoy every little piece of it, not to be uncomfortable and unsatisfied at the end, so, for that to happen I started making my own events with one goal, and it was not to make a living out of it, it was to change a little bit how people in my country/city enjoy their nights and now here we are.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Most people don’t know this but, VEN is actually my second business and like my 12th start-up, when growing up my father used to tell me every day “do whatever you want, but don’t stay static waiting for a miracle, work yourself up” and I did and keep doing that until today, to this date I take part in many different areas like the coffee industry, the events industry, the digital payment industry, etc…

VEN is just the reflection of all the work that is done behind cameras and converted into a place where people can really be themself’s. To describe how hard has been to get here I always use an old phrase from Venezuela that is “nobody is a prophet in their own land”, that means that people from your place, that know you before it all started are never going to be as good as a follower or a fan that only knows you from your work, that’s the reason we are expanding to Europe and North America in the incoming year.

We have one factor that sets us apart from everyone and that is that we are here to make you happy, not to take your money or make us famous. My father used to tell me that fame and money are just results and should not be pursued, go ahead and make yourself happy, then others, and if you do that right, there is no way you are not going to be successful. That is why we center ourselves on creating memories, something that you will remember forever and put a smile on your face every single time you think about it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami it’s my type of place for two reasons, the nice weather and the variety of activities available. My plan is made in a way that anyone can enjoy the most of those two features.

I would definitely like to stay at a Hotel on Brickell; probably at the JW, the Conrad, or really any other with some nice features. Enjoy the morning in the nearby cafes and do some walking along the coast, after getting a meal at either The Rusty Pelican for seafood or Novechento for steak is the way to go.

Getting out on a yacht or any boat to do some fishing and enjoy your afternoon it’s also a great idea. If you need some shopping definitely go to Aventura mall and prepare for the night because it’s gonna be “lit!”

Sexy Fish, Komodo, Sugar, Eleven, Space there are a lot of places where parties and nights are incredible (some of the best in the world) the only places I don’t recommend going at night at Doral and Wynwood, I just didn’t enjoy it. But those places have their own magic, if you love art Wynwood is the place to go for sure, and a whole day at Trump National Doral for some golf and some great food is something that you can not miss.

Some extra plans in Miami if you have some time left can be going to K1 karts, visiting South beach, The Perez Art Museum, going to either a basketball game at the FTX or a music event, and you can hit the Hard Rock Stadium and the Inter Miami Stadium for some sports games.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all my father, he is an incredible businessman and without his mentorship and tips, it would have been impossible.

Then my team, Brenda, Luis, and my manager Titel.

And then to two artists who are Marco Allen for all the help these years and Martin Garrix for the motivation to keep going
