Meet Pete Mendia | Surfer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Pete Mendia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pete, why did you pursue a creative career?
I wouldn’t necessarily say that I chose this path, I was having so much fun in surfing and happen to get really lucky where it turned into a career What’s great is every day is different in the ocean and you’re always learning..

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Throughout my younger years, I did competitions, but it wasn’t until my main sponsor. Billabong had me become a free surfer, which means to travel the world and get documented by photographers.. there were times where i was stressed to get the shot or the video to keep your companies happy but it wasn’t until I started doing my own thing where stuff began to flow a lot easier. Just approaching the wave How I wanted to surf .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The ocean in palm beach, go eat at sushi Jo Go have a fun night at Respectable St.,

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a lot of people that I emulated through my career because of their great styles Luke Egan, occy. A friend Chris Todd from Virginia Beach introduced me to a couple companies that I am still with to this day over 30 years ago. My family and my wife, especially for keeping my head on straight
