We had the good fortune of connecting with PK Pandey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi PK, what is the most important factor behind your success?

Curiosity, self learning and hard work have all been crucial elements of my success. I consider myself a perpetual student of life. I didn’t have the opportunity to complete college, so that’s one of those most important lessons I want to teach my kids, never stop learning, and all of them have completed college. I want to foster an environment that encourages constant curiosity, and instill the value of continued learning throughout life. Constantly striving to improve, paired with drive and hard work is how I have forged such strong relationships with my clients, vendors and partners. Relationships are the most important part of business.

I feel risk is a necessary element when building a company or brand and I found that the more comfortable I became with this concept, the more risks I took. I don’t even think of decisions as risky anymore, the word risk is adverse. I just think of it as a decision and that’s inherent in the process of doing business. I have to make decisions to grow and enhance my business. Sometimes they’re good decisions- and sometimes not, but I don’t let fear and emotions get in the way when I instinctively know that the opportunity will reap rewards. At the same time, I am aware that the mistakes are a point of learning and growth. Going on my own and working for myself was one of the hardest, riskiest decisions I’ve made but it’s paid off immensely through hard work and dedication to growing.

When I first started on my own, I became a workaholic and poured myself into every project. It took a lot of time and even more hard work, but eventually I got to a place where I was able to find people that I can delegate certain tasks to. Every morning we have a team huddle and I can instill my values and the high level of customer care that I require for my clients. We’re here to create something of value for our clients and all of the effort makes the outcome so much more rewarding. If I have deep passion about something, it doesn’t seem like work. I truly care about my clients and seek to understand their needs and take the time to find the best solution.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

AVN SYS designs, engineers and builds A/V System’s primarily for the recording studio market. We also build high end studio monitors under the brand name of Symphonic Acoustics. Our studio showroom, the Miami Sound Lounge, in North Miami should be complete in a few months. I really care about the relationships I build with my clients and colleagues. It’s important to me to take the time to understand their needs and make the best decisions to make that happen. Getting where I am today took a great deal of hard work and persistence, but I stay positive, even when times are tough. I have learned that if you envision that you already have whatever it is that you want, it will happen when the time is right.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

We would definitely spend a lot of time at the beach! I’m also on a mission to find the best tacos in Miami.
