We had the good fortune of connecting with Q & Dominique Varzideh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Q & Dominique, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We each had a passion to have our own business. And thankfully, our passions intertwined perfectly! For me, Q, I love coffee. It’s about the simplicity of a cup of coffee that is so warm and inviting; producing meaningful conversations and joy. It amazes me that I can create a cup of joy, curated to each customer’s needs to brighten their day. For me, Dominique, I love events! Gathering family and friends, ensuring that they are cared for any occasion has always been a passion. Together we decided to open a Coffee Catering business, combining both of our passions. Our small business journey, began with many different ideas. We landed on using the coffee cart, which allowed us to be apart of many events. It is portable, easily customized for an event, while functionally accommodating crowds of any size.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Varzideh Co. is a full service Coffee Catering company. Each aspect is tailored to the needs of your event and guests; with decor, drinks and dessert offerings, because every event is unique. We provide each event with our awesome barista, supportive staff, and an espresso bar.
We are a husband and wife team, turned into a family business. All of us are teachers by day and coffee enthusiasts by night! We love connecting with our students and their families, and continuing that through our business. We are most exciting about expanding into a cafe and venue space.
Our business is here due to our family and friends support! It has been a difficult journey, to say the least. We opened Varzideh Co. at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, in addition to starting our little family. Through the challenges we have learned to enjoy the process, celebrate every milestone, and that’s it’s okay to start small.
Our business is here to make sure everyone feels like family. Come to us knowing that we will serve you with the same care that we would to our own.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love having friends over and showing them our favorite spots in Miami! We’d take them to few different beach spots, and the lighthouse in Key Biscayne cannot be missed. For food we’d have to go to Kennedy Park for the most amazing iced lemonade, and lunch at 1-800-LUCKY, then head to a French restaurant called Rouge for dinner. We’d also visit Le Chat Noir, a jazz club, and the Miami Improv Comedy Club. And we’d never forget to give our guest a coffee tour through the Design District, Wynwood, and Brickell areas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our shoutout goes to Hugues and Lisa Pericles. These amazing human beings have helped every step along the way. Lisa pushed us out of our comfort zone by securing our first major coffee event. While Hugues has been a constant helping hand whenever we need (which has been a ton). We are so grateful to the both of them!
