We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Harrypersad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think that it’s always worth it to take risks. I wouldn’t say to always dive head first into the riskiest things possible, but someone once told me there’s no reward without risk. It puts you outside of your comfort zone, and I truly believe that you can do great things when you think outside of the box.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have two passions and businesses. My first one is my blog. I’ve always loved writing and sharing my experiences with others. I think that the fact that my blog is very personal is what sets it apart. I think it’s a beautiful thing to be able to tell others about your life. I think it opens up their mind and pushes them to experience it themselves. It was definitely not easy to start as I had to create a whole website and gain a following. I worked every week at it and had to remind myself what the goal was in the end. All I want is for people to realize they are never alone in their life.

My other business is as a virtual assistant. I absolutely love organizing and making people’s lives easier to manage which I feel sets me apart from others. It isn’t just work for me, this is what I do every day and actually enjoy doing. I’m still in the process of solidifying the business, but there have already been challenges. I know there will be more in the future but I know it’s worth it in the end.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in South Florida so there are so many things to do in the area. I’m near downtown West Palm Beach so I would probably start there. Hullaballoo is a favorite, especially for brunch (hello, $10 bottomless mimosas), and Kabuki is my go-to sushi place. Since it’s a week long trip, I would definitely need to take them to Delray Beach on Atlantic Avenue. There is so much to do there so we would probably go from mini golfing at Putt’n Around to Arts Garage to see local artists’ work to of course, the beach. I’m so close to the beach that we would probably spend a good half the time there and go to Sandbar after for some good cocktails. There are quite a few botanical gardens around like Mounts Botanical Garden or Morikami that are beautiful as well. If it’s not too hot, definitely kayaking or paddle boarding in Okeeheelee Park.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give my shoutout to my friends and most of all, my family. I have been through many career paths and taken many opportunities. Over time, I decided to focus in on one passion and I’m thankful that they have all supported me, no matter what.
