We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Luna and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I am from Brooklyn New York & before the pandemic hit, I was scheduled to go to Dominican Republic for a mommy makeover. I was over 40 & not feeling good about myself..my daughter who was 9 years old at the time was scared for me to go. I am a single mother to her & she has no relationship with her father. She was worried if something happened to me, would she have to go live with him. I decided to cancel my plans. During the pandemic, we went to Florida every few weeks to visit friends/family & she wanted to move there. I decided to do it for her, but change my whole career as well. I thought with all these fatalities happening from cosmetic plastic surgery, I want to make women feel confident without going under the knife. I took courses & went to school one I got to Florida. When I finished, I decided to take the plunge & open my own body contouring studio.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a Body Contouring Studio & specialize in customized treatments for each person individually. I try to achieve theirs goals by utilizing all the different techniques & machines each time. That way their bodies do not get used to one technique or machine & it stops working for them. The key is combination & switching it up. I also started offering monthly memberships for my clients to maintain the work we have already done. That is not something I see my competition doing. I also offer needless fat dissolver, butt enhancement, & lip filler.

I am passionate about making women feel their best, & super confident.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m pretty new to Florida, but I would say Wynwood. It reminds me a lot of where I’m from Williamsburg Brooklyn. Wynwood is a smaller version. It has all the painted walls, hipsters, & good food & nightlife. I like to go to rooftop bars & things like that. I’m a foodie & they have some great places there. They have interactive exhibits there as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think my daughter Ava was my inspiration. I want her to see her mother working hard & doing something she loves to do.
