We had the good fortune of connecting with Rackesh and Brithany Neath and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rackesh and Brithany, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Both Rackesh and I are from a Jamaican background. I (Brithany) was born and raised in St Catherine Jamaica and migrated to the US at age 16. Rackesh was born in Chicago, IL but both his parents are from Jamaica and they instilled the culture into him, and he often visited Jamaica in the summers. Our families both knew each other in Jamaica and they both lived a rough life. They were poor growing up and they made it their mission to not let their children go through the things they did so they worked hard to give us a good life. And seeing how hard they worked impacted us in a great way because of how we were raised we are determined and hardworking and we will never quit and we will make the life of our son even better than the life our families gave us.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We started our food blog when I (Brithany) got fired from my Hospital job because I did not take the vaccine. I was heartbroken because it was a job that I loved and the pay was amazing. That was we kept praying to ask God what’s next and that’s when blogging came about. We are still fairly new but we are determined to create a life where we won’t have to worry about being fired to have free will. We want the world to know our mission is to spread the Gospel through food. And one every blog post there is a section called Wisdom where we tell others about Christ.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, we live in New York City so there are tuns to do. But on the first day, we would take them where everyone loves to go when they come to New York you guessed it Manhattan and we would walk and sightsee for a bit and in the night grab a bite to eat at Dallas BBQ and have Henny Wing and drinks. Day 2 We relax for the day they are tired from travels and Manhattan was hectic so we will have dinner at Prime 39 there food is about amazing and so are the drinks.
Day 3 they wanted to go back to the city there was so much more to see in the city like the wax museum, m & m factory we get hungry to we headed to Frames Bowling Lounge to eat some amazing food and have fun.
Day 4 We are headed to Brooklyn to see the botanical gardens then have dinner at Bamboo Walk
Day 5 We are going on a boat tour of the City then just grab a bite to eat at Cabana
Day 6 We are heading to long island .for wine tasting at Macari Vineyards for dinner at an Italian restaurant called Vincents
Day 7 Pretty Chill day we grab breakfast at Grand Lux Cafe before their flight back home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We could not have done this without God he is our inspiration. He is the one that gives us the wisdom and understanding to do what we do. We are being led by the Holy Spirit in everything that we do. And all the credit and glory goes to Him. We also want to give credit to our son because he is our biggest motivation.
