We had the good fortune of connecting with Raldgine Beauvais and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raldgine, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
“Hustle, stack money, get bread”. These terms run rampant in our society, as cost of living, social media, and entrepreneurship starts to enlarge. I disagree with the “Hustle culture” as it makes the goal about money. A business should not be built in the pursuit of money, but on the pursuit of recognizing a problem, and creating a solution through mankind. The fruit of the vision will produce monetary compensation. When individuals have the hustle culture mindset, it goes against the very nature of humankind. Instead of creating a community of team members, executing abstract and concrete ideas from the intelligence of a team, you create stress, ego, selfishness, and emptiness as we know what it takes to build a successful business. By realizing that the world could change, lives could change, and a new way of thinking can be created from your hands, money does not compare.
What should our readers know about your business?
Unlike Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter, our social platform is dedicated to solely holistic health. Expanding past health, we are the only platform that understands the power of representation past gender and race. We are the only platform that contains holistic health information that highlights every individual. This includes amputees, mental and physical disabilities, all genders and ethnicities, and SES status. Having two degrees in public health has equipped me on health, especially understanding population health relating to SES. Not even fashion houses or runway shows are as inclusive as our magazine. We are here to change the way that representation is shown in the media. . Authenticity is something that can not be learned, taught, or bought. Once the audience understands this, they not only love the product, but they understand it in their own personal way.
I am proud of the journey that I am learning as an entrepreneur. Business is not easy, and you have to built for the waves that come. I am honored to be on the journey testing myself and what is important to me in order to accomplish the success of the magazine. Having a company will reveal things within yourself, and you need to understand that your company reflects yourself, so it is a consistent internal and external work which can lead to frustration, burn out, and the need to give up. This only strengthens you however for the next battle. The lesson that is learned over and over in business is that the work is never done, you have to keep improving, and the work to improve never ends. However, it teaches you how to adapt with change, and be flexible in the movement of life and work.
I want the world to know that our magazine was created with the thought of you in our mind, before you ever knew that you need healthy, holistic, representation to improve your life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When it comes to visiting Miami, every aspect of Miami needs attention. Starting where I live in Brickell, I would visit the places where it has a great ambiance, food, and entertainment. In the morning, I would have them visit Balans, Pura Vida, Ojo de Agua, or Rosetta’s. I would visit the Brickell City Centre, Bayside Marketplace, and take stroll around Brickell Key. For lunch in Brickell, I would visit my favorite spot in Brickell which is Moxies. In the nighttime, Sugar or Rosa Sky is great, or for a little dancing, Blackbird. Moving north, I would want them to experience cultural miami as well, visiting Calle Ocho, Little Havana, Little Haiti, and Wynwood. I would stop by Naomi’s Garden for the best Haitian food, visit Miami mojito company, and go dancing at Latino/Hispanic restaurants. At night for dancing, Brick, Coyo, Dirty Rabbit, or Red Rooster has the best ambiance. More fantastic food and culture can be found in North Miami, and you can travel from North Miami back to the beach where Joia, Soho, Playa, Lincoln Road shops, and visiting Ocean Drive can be scenic and will give you the Miami that you see in films. It is important to explore not only the popular tourist attractions, but the areas that have been Miami staples that serve to the different culture and languages of Miami which reside within the Carribean, Hispanic/Latino communities, the true Miami.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The success of Beauvais Magazine falls on Jesus Christ, the only person who is able to create this vision, and execute this project as I am just a vessel. My friends and family who have always supported me, my current staff who have been on this two year journey for me, Penn State and Miami professors, and most importantly, my mother, Marthe Beauvais, who endlessly pours her faith and support to make this possible.
