Meet Raphael Vulcain | Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raphael Vulcain and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raphael, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Without risk, there is no life worth living. That is what I think about risk. Risk is an essential part of existing in this world full of opportunity. Opportunity for love, romantic/platonic relationships, careers, travel and much more. Risks have played a significant part in my growth as an artist and person.
As an artist, I have quit jobs giving me consistent income to go on tour for one of my favorite musicians growing up. Trading this income for a reward that was intangible in that moment was something I was willing to do. This has provided me with a year full of creative growth across all skill sets. From music to fabrication to much more, I am now at a place in my scene where I’m respected and sought after.
This risk while free lancing, has provided me the experience that has landed my new job which is my dream one. One where I am able to check off most boxes of my life that I need. Working for an extensive development project in Miami and in a position where I am able to flex all my skills in one roof.
Risk is pillar to anyone who wants to create the life that they deserve.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a musician, producer, DJ based out of Miami FL. I have been playing drums since I was 8 and from then on have been a part of many experiences that involve music. From performing on stages to curating and producing my own shows for my peers in Miami and in other cities in the United States, this has provided me with memories that last a life time.
I wouldn’t say it was easy, however, when something is meant for you, it definitely helps keep the faith to remain resilient throughout the journey. If it was easy everyone would do it and do it well. Some hard ships I encountered across the way were staying strong despite the opinion of my parents taking my artistic career aspirations seriously. Running into other artists who say they are on your team, however they have their own agendas and do not remain true to the friendship or relationship you’ve developed.
If I wanted the world to take away one thing from my story, is that fact that I was one of the most multi faceted people to ever live. I have many different interests that tie into one another, and I would like to spend the rest of my life getting better at these skills.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spots in Miami are anything that have to do with nature, food and music.
For music I would take them to a couple venues such as ZeyZey Miami, a venue dedicated to bringing live musicians and DJ’s you would usually see in bigger venues to Miami to experience them up close and personal.
For nature, i would take them to Virginia Key or North Beach for a sand meets ocean experience. For other nature things I would take them to Oleta State Park to go kayaking and the Everglades for a boat ride.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
